Incredible hotel. It will make you feel you are in a bygone era. Rooms are beautifully decorated and every part of the hotel is beautiful and kept maniacally well. Great garden and very good food. At the terrace bar you can enjoy the sunset drinking great cocktails. It’s definitely the best Nairobi can offer when it comes to hospitality. It is also conveniently located in the heart of Karen, steps from Karen’s museum and coffee shop. The service is outstanding.

Amazing place, highly recommend it, will come back as soon as we can. Atmosphere is extremely calm and relaxing, perfect place to relax and recover. The rooms have a perfect style and decoration, food is amazing, staff the kindest and most professional you can find.

The PERFECT place to relax after a long journey prior to going on safari. Excellent service and beautiful grounds. We’ve been here a few times and we travel a lot, this is DEFINITELY one of the best run hotels in the world. Great coffee and food and oh did I mention GREAT SERVICE😃

Most beautiful place in Nairobi other than Giraffe Manor, but very poorly trained staff. A couple people are good (Newton at restaurant, John the butler, a woman with glasses at front desk whose name I didn’t catch), but staff is generally not up to par for even a two star hotel. On last day, I called to request a late checkout at 10:20 and told we had already been given a late checkout at 11 am (no one had communicated the checkout times to us). This would have been fine, but the staff threatened that they would charge us ~$600 if we stayed in the room a moment past 11am. Really bizarre treatment that left a bad taste in our mouth, especially since management had confirmed that the hotel wasn’t full. Next time I will just splurge and stay at Giraffe Manor or go cheap and stay at Crowne Plaza Nairobi. The latter is certainly not as spectacular as Hemingways, but staff is FAR better.

I did not stay at the hotel, but I had dinner at the Restaurant with friends. The entire staff was very friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed while having dinner. Very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. The hotel is gorgeous. May stay there on my next trip to Kenya.

The hotel itself is very nice. But has some weird quirks about using steam room, day check ins are not until 1pm. That said the food is great and our waiter Derrick made our stay there before and after our safari great! He was super attentive and helpful . He certainly had 5 start service

Nestled in one of the most scenic and tranquil parts of Nairobi, is this gem of a place called Hemingways - definitely the best African locations I have stayed at and I would rate it in my top 5 ever stayed at. Not only is the hotel exceptional, what makes it is the friendliness of the staff and the pleasure they take / pride they have in doing whatever they can to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. The food at the restaurant is also amazing and the rooms ( I was fortunate to have a suite) are spacious, comfortable, well equipped and comfortable - with balconies overlooking an expansive garden. Amazing, amazing place! - which also provides knowledgeable guides into the National Park. I couldn’t fault one thing, amazing experience!!

We spent 5 nights at this beautiful hotel. A lot of research went into our choice and it didn’t disappoint in any way. The setting is stunning and the grounds are immaculately kept - much credit should go to the garden team. Every single member of staff we encountered were a credit to the hotel and we really did feel like honoured guests. There are too many staff to mention by name but special thanks must go to John and Joel the concierge team who organised our excursions - nothing was too much trouble. Also the restaurant and bar staff were so friendly and helpful and the service was first class - thank you especially to Newton, Isaac and Victor. We had a fabulous Sunday brunch with live Jazz which was pleasantly discreet, the food was delicious and our glasses were never empty. The suites were luxurious and kept spotless by the housekeeping team. We genuinely don’t have a negative comment to make about any aspect of our stay - it was memorable for all the right reasons.

I had a delicious dinner date. Yvonne served us great with a lot of warmth and so much grace, patience and offered assistance to make us comfortable during our time here With such service. I shall be back very many times. The ambience is also to die for.
