It was lovely. The rooms were comfortable, staff was great and breakfast was tasty. BUT, What have they done to this place in the last 6 months? They redecorated and made the historic rooms into apartments. It looks awful. I wouldn’t stay there now.

Weeks later and we are still smiling and joyfully reminiscing about our time in Condesa Haus. As an expat who grew up in Mexico City, this is the true, authentic Mexico. Beautiful rooms (BEST sleep of my life), attentive and knowledgeable staff, prime location (walking distance to soo many top eateries and shops), all located on the most peaceful, magical street. We especially loved the private rooftop retreat. Cannot wait to come back for a long term stay in one of the apartment style penthouse units!

I recommend Condesa Haus! Our two rooms were comfortable, clean, and quiet, despite one facing the street. The location is excellent, on a quiet side street but near restaurants, cafes, and parks. The building is beautiful and is a wonderful way to have a peek inside one of the charming 1920s and 1930s buildings of the Condesa neighborhood. The breakfast was tasty and Fernando's restaurant suggestion was inexpensive and delicious. If you expect a large traditional hotel you won't like it, but if you want to stay in a beautiful historical building in a great neighborhood with comfortable, clean and pretty rooms, you will be very happy. I would gladly stay at Condesa Haus again.

I stayed at Condesa Haus with my parents during November 2022. We were initially booked for a Superior Deluxe Double or Twin Room sleeping 4 people. Prior to our stay, they reached out to ask if we wanted to take an upgrade to a Suite due to later bookings. I very much wish I had said no, and would recommend to any others to decline. The Suite was incredibly average - it was decorated minimally, the kitchen did not have everything needed to be used (e.g., no dishsoap, towels or brush for cleaning dishes, or bowls), and there was no bathtub in the bathroom. Additionally, while the booked room was meant to have a patio, the Suite had access to the roof deck (which anyone in the hotel could go to regardless). The hotel booked out the entire downstairs while we were there, so we had no access to any of the communal areas, and needed to go to a local restaurant for breakfast each day (which was coordinated, and free, but not what we expected - very good food though, El Figonero). Without the communal areas, the hotel had no personality, and it felt like we were renting a third floor private room on airBNB. As pros, the hotel is located in a great neighborhood, which is very walkable to restaurants and sights. The streets were quiet (but not unsafe) at night, and there was the right amount of local activity (e.g., terrace bars, restaurants, taco spots). They were responsive via What's App to the issues in the room - toilet tank was not refilling, and the safe did not recognize the passcode. While there was not available coffee/tea or water, the hotel manager coordinated drop off of a water cooler for our stay. The cleaning women were great each day. For cons, see above re the rooms. Again, I would absolutely not have agreed to the "upgrade" (it was not an upgrade in any remote sense of the word), if I had understood how it would change the dynamic of the stay. Generally room was very quiet, except for neighborhood dogs at night, and echoing sounds from the stairwell/other guests. There was never any staff on site during the time that we were there, which was strange. Everything needed had to be coordinated and scheduled through What's App. Finally, the main contact we had sent his PayPal to me more than once at the end for a tip. I was always planning on tipping him, but it made me uncomfortable to receive it more than once when we hadn't even checked out yet. On the whole, I would not return for the experience we had - it was disappointing based on the many glowing reviews for the hotel otherwise. It was completely adequate and a decent value, but based on the pictures and descriptions, I expected a better stay.

When we were searching for a place to stay there were so many options that it was hard to decide. We went with our gut and glad we did. Fernando, the owner and host, is a gracious man who respects and takes care of his guests. He is always available, is full of knowledge about this amazing city, and creates a warm environment. The rooms are fun, priced right, and very clean, with daily housecleaning. Breakfast is delicious and included in the price. The neighborhood is safe, tree-lined and quiet. We'll go back.

This is a sweet colonial, heritage villa place. Loved the big bed in my room. We only had two days in Mexico City and staying in La Condesa neighbourhood was great! Very funky and we (as two boomer females) felt very safe wandering around everywhere….a nice evening stroll. The area was very quiet. The house manager was very helpful to us. This place has a system whereby you advise the manager when you’ll be arriving and he comes to meet you…ie) no front desk staff. This worked seamlessly for us and when I accidentally locked myself out of my room the manager attended the location straight away and helped me back into my room. He was very pleasant. Breakfast was lovely. Thanks again….we recommend you stay.

A lovely intimate spot in La Condesa. The neighborhood was quiet. My room was as described, comfortable bed, great old claw foot tub as well as a separate shower. There was a small heater as well as a fan. This is a great spot for exploring this part of the city and an Uber can take you anywhere else . Nice to have breakfast in the am . We were able to leave our bags there after check out which was great !

Lovely breakfast and service! The neighborhood is full of lovely shops, restaurants and bars! It’s a great neighborhood to stay in while in Mexico City!
