Wyndham Trenython Manor Cornwall

We had a lovely stay at Trenython Manor. I had just finished walking the Saints Way, so it was a welcome change from trudging and camping. The view from the terrace is lovely and makes the bar and restaurant special. Staff were very friendly. The spa facilities are great.

An excellent place to visit. The staff were friendly and very helpful who made us feel welcome. The restaurant was excellent and at no time did we feel hungry.

We booked, on line, for Sunday lunch [as we have done for the past few years when relations are visiting]. When we arrived we were told that there was no Sunday lunch but a BBQ. This was not what we were expecting. and we were all very disappointed. No where on the web does it say that a BBQ will be served, infact every reference to Sunday lunch speaks of a roast. Additionally this was not explained when the booking was confirmed. Overall the experience was disappointing. The starters were passable however the sauce with the chicken was uninteresting. We all had pork chops which were delicious with the side dishes being acceptable, but not overwhelming. The choice of desserts was uninteresting - icecream sundae, grilled pineapple with cream or poached strawberries and cream. Sadly we shall not be returning.

All well in this well presented and well looked after quiet apartment. Gardens and lawns well kept. Staff were smart and helpful. Great place to stay.

Arrived after a long drive from sunny Yorkshire. Check in went smoothly and the sea view from room 110 on the first floor was beautiful. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We didn't have dinner in the hotel but breakfast was excellent. Buffet style with well cooked food and a good selection of cereal, pastries etc Please don't embarrass yourself as I did, by asking for a larger breakfast plate, which I hadn't spotted (because I'm a bloke and we can"t even find our keys or phone!) under a lid on a hotplate. I think the staff must have thought I wanted to "Super Size" because I was presented with the largest brekfast plate I'd ever seen. As I did my walk of shame back to our lovely window seat, even the squirrel's outside were looking in saying "have you seen the size of that guys plate!" Anyway, we had a lovely stay and should we return to Fowey, we would definitely book again. Thanks to all the staff for a warm welcome and an enjoyable stay.

This hotel needs better investment (esp. IT systems) and staff training/supervision. The current friendly staff are being let down by poor local management, and there is a real need for a dynamic executive chef to overhaul the menu choices. Scraps of paper at the reception desk suggest an inadequate and unreliable IT system which has to be bypassed by the staff. This hotel, just outside Fowey, has great potential - call in Alex Polizzi !

The staff here are so lovely and helpful, nothing is too much trouble! I stayed here for a couple of days as an impromptu visit to see The Lost Gardens of Heligan. I had a nice room on the second floor ( which was fine for me but you needed to be fit for all the stairs). The pool was OK but quite small. I did not go to the restaurant as I was put off by previous reviews about costs etc, so I ate out.

The hotel and spa ws well appointed and manned by helpful and pleasant staff who excelled in customer service. The location was ideal to explore the area arround Fowey, the Eden Project and Mevagissey. The superior room with sea view was excellent.

We booked a lodge and were very pleasantly surprised at how big it was, and how well equipped. Large bedrooms, two bathrooms, sofa bed in the lounge, and an excellent kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. The lodges are beautifully spaced out and not at all on top of each other, and the grounds are wonderful. We used the lodge as a base for a family wedding in nearby Fowey and so did not use the restaurant or spa so can't comment, but for what we needed the lodge was well beyond expectations.
