Courtyard Basking Ridge

Liberty Corner|0.43km from 7-Eleven
We've stayed at this hotel while visiting family on two other occasions (prior to Covid) and always found the hotel to be perfectly acceptable and the staff to be friendly and accommodating... this is our first visit post-Covid and I have to say that there are definitely differences in the hotel from two years ago. The room was OK, bed and bedding very comfortable, but the overall appearance and cleanliness of the public spaces in this hotel has definitely gone downhill. The carpets in the hallways, stairways and lobby are filthy and the elevators are dirty and in need of a serious cleaning. Also, we were very disappointed to learn that the maid service has not resumed at this hotel and if you want your room cleaned and towels replaced, you have to notify the front desk the day before. The lobby bar is only open on Friday and Saturday, the bistro only serves breakfast and no other prepared food is available at the hotel -- the hotel previously had offered breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks and the bar had been open 7 days a week. I understand that Covid hit this area hard, but if the hotel wants to continue to charge the same rate for your stay, they need to resume full operations, including maid service and food service. We would like to continue to give our business to this hotel, but they need to clean it, refresh the public spaces and reopen fully -- if that doesn't happen, then we will be taking our hotel business elsewhere.

I have stayed at this hotel off and on since February of 2022 when I started my chemotherapy treatments at Memorial Sloan Kettering cancer center in Basking Ridge. I was diagnosed with a rare form of non Hodgkin’s lymphoma called Mantle Cell Lymphoma in May of 2021. I am extremely grateful for this hotel for accommodating me while up in the area for treatments, and scans. As I’m getting better, my visits are less frequent, but I stayed here last month again, and wanted to thank the staff for their kindness especially Maya Dawkins and Jossehlyn. Thank you all very much. I look forward to my next stay, as that means I will hear more good news about my recovery. If you wish to follow my journey back to good health
