Generally ok and I did extend my trip a couple of days. The food was good and the entertainment team were great. The front desk however are a bit full of themselves. When I arrived at 14h30 they told me the room would be ready by 15h15. When I went back at 15h30 they said 16h30… it was because they were still painting it! When I went in the room I lent against the wall and got covered in paint. I contacted the front desk who seemed very inconvenienced by the issue and said ‘I suppose you will want to change room’. Well yes… did they offer to help me clean off the paint, move my luggage to the new room, bring the new keys to me? No No No - had to do it all myself. So service recovery skills there non existent. They also messed up the new keys when I extended the stay so I had to go back. There is a club area on the beach but it is so badly signposted that people would drift in there and sit down and then get into a fight (literally) with the club guests. The signage needs to be made a lot clearer. I don’t really want to listen to that on my vacation and I expect people who go in there by accident want to be humiliated either. But I did like the hotel and particularly the beach was great for swimming.

As with all other reviews, this one has it's good points and bad points and of course it all depends on the individual. First of all is the transport. Keep in mind that Viva is quite a bit away from airports. do not fly in to POP (Puerta Plata). the trip in was so long Viva had to hire an outside taxi to take us and bring us back. The ups - the weather - gorgeous and calm 24/7 and very little wind. It felt like we died and were in heaven. The lounging areas - It was nice not to have to fight for a chair. There seemed to be plenty on both the beach and pool. They had cabanas and they were free. Just claim yours early.
The bad - the food. They have 3 special restaurants that you have to make reservations for right away but don't bother. After the first one we had to go to the buffet to eat because the portions were small. The second restaurant was so late in delivering we left after an hour because the main meal was not served and the third restaurant was also ditto. The buffet had a lot to choose from but nothing much that we liked. The room - our thermostat did work right so we were either cold or hot. Don't get a room with a pool cuz the pool is very small and cold. Entertainment was good and every night but keep in mind that they will blast dance music until the wee hours. if you can choose a room find one far away at the end. Overall - it was one of the most beut.stays but also one we won't go back to. need better food and more quiet.

Amazing!!!!
Excellent entertainment. My Fiancé and I enjoyed it to the max.
We stayed in one of the bungalows, beautiful room and plunge pool. Exceptional service at the restaurants.
The Spa was everything, relaxing and quiet.

The property is a true all inclusive resort with meals and drinks that available throughout the day.. Guests services was excellent especially Luis at check in he is definitely a professional at work… Thanks!

It was loud. Room service BLOCKED our room phone number so we could not call them back after they messed up our order. We complained to the receptionist and nothing was done.

The propery infrastructure ia awesome great resot. My only complaint is the staff at the buffet restaurant was far fom being good.
They pay no attention to the guest requests.

They robbed me of the additional services I paid for. First I got the wrong room upon arrival I worked with it. I paid for a welcome birthday package they literally had 6 regular balloons at that’s it. Paid for dinner on the beach, heavy rain so they reached for the next day. Next day came they can no longer do it and promised to refund. I reached out to them multiple times for the refund submitted receipts and it’s 7months later NO REFUND. Food and fruits had no flavor, those who knew English failed to speak it good think I understand some things though I didn’t know how to reply. Swim up pool for bungalow you can’t swim it’s very narrow and shallow. I got catfish.

The resort is beautiful, the staffs are friendly, food was good. They provided different types of food between meals which is really nice. Buffets were well-prepared, they did a really good job!
