My partner and I just spent 6 days at Maya Sanctuary. It is the most beautiful place, beautiful native plants everywhere you look.Very clean and tidy. The spa was amazing, we actually spent most of our time in it. Blackheath is reasonably close by for shopping needs and there is a takeaway place ( which has great coffee) 10 minutes away.. Lots of other attractions close by.Julian and the team are very helpful and happy to take care of anything you ask.. We absolutely loved our time there and we'll hopefully be able to visit more often..Highly recommend for couples who need a time out from every day life ❤️

We chose this place as it sounded quaint and private. It turned out we were lucky as no one else booked any of the other cabins or lodges, so it was quaint and private. While the cabins were placed apart, they were still close enough that we could here the spa baths of the next one along while sitting outside. We didn't use the BBQ as it was still dirty, which was a shame. Everything else about the cabin was good and we enjoyed the stay very much. It was nice to receive a couple of complimentary bottles of Apple Cider, the bed was comfortable and the cabin had plenty of room to move around. The bathrobes and bath towels were soft and nice to use. We did a couple of the short bush walks- the weather was a bit hot and we weren't prepared for any longer ones. Didn't see much wildlife but I'm sure they were there. The drive to the sanctuary was a bit hairy as there was roadworks happening and the dirt road was a bit slippery. That was just a short part of the road length- the rest was fine. A suggestion was for an instruction book for the spa and leaving the guestbook somewhere obvious (we had to search for it)

I booked the artist's studio wood fire timber accents decorated with country brica brac. The a**osphere in this studio is amazing. The spiral staircase adds to the wonder of the studio the views have to be seen It has a meandering stream bypassing the studio. Hot Hot water well appointed A.C wood heater open plan. Book this place.

Julian was extremely accomodating and allowed us to check in an hour early. We were a group of 10 and stayed at Illowra house, which was absoultly beautiful. Attention to detail in the whole house from toilet paper to kitchen ware. They went above and beyond to help make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away.

What a fabulous property. We spent 3-nights at Illowra House which is the largest property in Maya Sanctuary. With 5 large bedrooms; all with en-suites, a wraparound verandah, a huge kitchen and dining space, and multiple sitting areas, and tasteful furnishings and antique pieces dotted around the property, there was a sense of space and grandeur throughout. We absolutely loved the time that we spent here as a family of 10. The bbq outside was a bonus. The solitude fabulous. We also managed to enjoy the large hot tub which is a bonus on cool nights. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with amenities for cooking and feeding a large group. Help was always available when needed and we felt that the hosts really took great care to ensure a very pleasant stay. The beds were very comfortable so everyone had a peaceful nights sleep. There is no television or wifi on the property but we could get good mobile reception with data (only at the house). Once you got out there are many black spots for phone reception but this is mentioned on the website. Local towns for shopping essentials are less than 20 mins drive away. There are many waking tracks around the house but be aware that they are rough and overgrown so wear appropriate hardy walking footwear and leg covering (running shoes and sneakers will catch the spikes from the grass making it painful after a while). I could easily see ourselves spending an entire week here. The place is fabulous value. Kudos to the hosts for setting up such a wonderful experience for guests.

Fortunately we booked for the Queen's Birthday weekend in February because the Blue Mountains area was really busy. We chose the Artist Cottage as it is a stand alone house designed for a couple's quite getaway. About 20 minutes from the highway, through beautiful and scenic countryside, the Artist Cottage is on its own on the right of the Estate road. One is provided with a key code so there is no need to go to the main hotel for check in. The Cottage is charming and rustic but clean and with everything in perfect working order . With the main floor having the living area (with a fantastic fireplace and unlimited wood), kitchen, dining and bathroom, the mezzanine has a lounge and the bedroom reached by a lovely spiral staircase. Downstairs on the porch is a hot tub and an electric BBQ, which works far better than one would expect. Apart from your food and drink, and personal toiletries everything is provided to make the stay comfortable and easy. What was provided? Well the complimentary bottle of red wine was a perfect accompaniment to the roaring rife and went down a treat. Slippers, fluffy white towels for inside, and the tub, dressing gowns and the normal shampoo and creams etc. The Queen bed was comfortable and the sheets crispy and clean, very nice indeed. In the kitchen all the amenities one could want with olive oil, salt and pepper, milk in the fridge but my one concern was that there were no small cutting knives and the large knives could do with a sharpen. Otherwise there was double the cutlery and crockery need for a couple. There is no dishwasher and while not an issue to us-, maybe a small one could be added at some stage. The tub was great- outside with a lovely view of the creek, just asking for a beer or glass of wine to relax and enjoy- even in the dead of winter. The surrounding countryside has heaps to do in Katoomba and Lithgow, as well as the Blue Mountain attractions obviously which we enjoyed but mainly but we just chilled and cooked great food, took short walks and relaxed by the fire or in the tub. Perfect place to completely relax.
