Hamitbey Hotel Yenikapı

First of all don't be fooled by the picture you see on the website. This is what it looks like from the outside. They photoshopped out two buildings. I've seen reviews saying the pool is wonderful, it's not. It's filthy. There's all kind of things on the bottom of the pool. That spout that pours water in doesn't look like it's been cleaned and it's very loud. It makes the pool area noisy. The pool is quite small but the building is quite small so that's fair. Be prepared to pay for a swim cap if you don't have one. 50 lira cash. The wait staff in the breakfast room were quite nice actually. However food is a guessing game. Not everything is labeled some things you know what they are like olives and bread. But there are so many things that have no labels on them and you just have to guess what they are. Different types of sauces or jams or whatever and for me it made breakfast less of a good experience. There are lots of cheeses but who knows what they are. Some of those cheeses were brought out the next day from the day before. I know this because some of those she slices were rock hard. There are fries every morning but they're soggy because they're in a steamer basically. The location is good because you're within walking distance of the Grand Bazaar and the Blue mosque and lots of places to eat. The Metro is less than 5 minutes away. Turn right out of the hotel and it's the first turning on the left. The four Star rating has me baffled. I can't see how this is a four star hotel but I guess it's one of those you get what you pay for. It was cheap and it was cheap for a reason. The walls are thin. We could clearly hear the The people in the room next to ours. And their TV was so loud we couldn't hear our own. When I'm back in Istanbul I'll spend more money and stay somewhere different. Getting back to IST airport was a breeze. There are buses that run every 30 minutes. It takes less than an hour and you can walk there in about 10 minutes. Just turn right out of the hotel. Take the first street on your right and keep walking until you get to the mall. Go down into the mall come out the other side turn left and you will see the bus stand. You can pay with a credit card.

Fantastic hotel with fantastic staff, location was excellent, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the breakfast is 1st class, this is my second stay here and it won't be my last, I can't recommend this hotel enough five star hotel with five star staff

If there is less than 1 star i will give less, i found twice rotten food on breakfast, i found it first on the turkey slice i wish i took a picture, the second time was on a piece of cake, the bedsheets had some hair and i think chocolate, i called them to change and they did, but it shouldnt be the situation in 4 stars hotel, some of the staff are very kind and some of them you feel they just want you to vinish.i really hated the stay.

AVOID AVOID AVOID I wish I could give 0 stars, I don’t even know where to start. Lying and aggressive staff Pictures are deceiving, booked through Agoda where it shows a balcony. Got to the hotel, there was no balcony . The worker who took us to the room called reception from our room, I asked about the balcony, was advised there are no rooms with balcony. I asked if I could have a refund if we left, receptionist said yes. 5 minutes after being there, we checked out. Again I asked if we will have a refund, receptionist asked me to message the hotel through Agoda and he will personally refund. After leaving the hotel and going back and fourth with the staff, I was told they don’t donate money ( I asked for a refund not a donation) I asked why promise a refund, make me book another hotel if they were not going to do it? I went back to the hotel and one of staff tried to grab me and drag me out of hotel. Absolutely disgusting, shame on you!!!!!
