The hotel is OK for the price, basic but in a pretty setting. However, it stated on the booking confirmation guests could call for check in after 6pm. Having called multiple times and never got a reply I got to the hotel at 10pm not knowing if I’d be able to check in or if I would have to find a last minute alternative. As it turns out there is a keysafe and mobile number that can be reached, but it would have been great to know this before getting to the hotel. ********** customer service were of no help whatsoever.

No one there to check us in. Had to wait. Booked a 2 BEDROOM apt. Only had one. One half roll of toilet paper. One almost empty soap dispenser. Pull out sofa dirty. Would not sleep on that. Over priced and unsatisfactory.

Very nice ambience, great location on the Ruhr, spacious rooms and dining areas and very friendly and helpful service! I would love to come back.

Great a**osphere in old industrial culture, rooms functional but decorated in the character of the building and very neat and clean. Great mattresses! Bathroom spacious, although I'm not a fan of shower curtains. Good breakfast buffet, very friendly staff. Charming location right on the river. Parking a bit difficult to find in the dark. Overall: Great value for money, would happily stay again

Beautiful location on the river; lots of space and good room facilities; clean; good value for money; rental bikes and own cycling guide available if required. Small hotel, so reception only open for a few hours.

Unfortunately, despite contacting reception twice, the internet didn't work. No WiFi. It was impossible to work in the room. Even small things can tell that a hotel is good/working: TV channels are disorganized, hairdryer from the 80s is permanently installed and hardly blows air/is loud. The staff are very nice though.

The staff is always friendly and committed.
The breakfast is adequate, but has a bit of a canteen feel, there is a trolley for clearing away the tablets. I don't like vending machine coffee and the tea selection is "ok". Rolls are fresh and still warm.
Room: I had a suite with a kitchen and was very satisfied. FANTASTIC: The mattresses. I rarely stay in a hotel where I don't have back pain in the morning. Unfortunately I couldn't find out the manufacturer.
Wi-Fi: free and no login; it's a bit weak and keeps going off. It's busy at the weekend, very quiet during the week.

Hotel very clean, beds excellent. Staff very friendly, breakfast plentiful with a view of the water. Quiet location, close to the old town about 5 minutes on foot.
