Jade Orental was our first stop in Hanoi after an 18 hour trip from the US. We were a group of 17 people. The General Manger Mr. Do and his staff welcomed us very well on arrival with a efficient check in process. The hotel is located in a great area (we were walking around after midnight and felt safe). Breakfast spread was excellent and food tasty with lots of variety, customer service was very good, rooms were well appointed and bed very comfortable. Felt at home and very welcomed. Would definitely go back there again. Thanks to everyone for making our stay there great.

Impressive entrance with a short walk to anything you might want/need in Hanoi. Check-in was a breeze when we arrived mid-afternoon. The lobby on Level 1 and restaurant on level 2 are opulent and well-served with competent and English fluent staff. The room I had was well presented, very clean and well-serviced. Great pillows!! Small, but functional bathroom with a great two-way shower. Money can be exchanged at reception at around market rate. The breakfast on level 2 has something for everyone. Vietnamese, western and excellent pastries. Fresh fruit and a great noodle bar. The wait staff and chefs are expert and can create pretty much anything on request. The room service menu is spartan but reasonably priced and well presented and delivered hot. Pasta, pizza, burgers and (of course) Pho. For those not familiar with Vietnamese coffee, fasten your seatbelt before trying. This beverage will wake the deepest sleeper in seconds. Concierge services are effective and non-intrusive. There is a mini-supermarket about 100 metres from the front door where you can find that razor you forgot amongst other necessities. This hotel is brilliantly located near the lake, which is a great location for a stroll. Within a five minute walk you can find pretty much anything that you can think of. There is a roof top bar and pool on level 10 and, to be honest, this was a little disappointing. The pool works, but the surrounds are a little tired and could do with an upgrade. Not a showstopper by any means. The lifts work, the electricity is 100% available and the wifi is fast and consistent. The laundry service is fast and reasonably priced. If you want to outsource laundry, there are several services available close by for USD$1.50 per kilo. My team of 3 stayed here for 12 days and very much enjoyed the facilities and hospitality. I would stay here again any day of the week!!

Our group of 6 stayed 3 nights at peridot. We had some hiccups which was of no fault by the hotel..( like losing one luggage from our group from our cruise, and tour operator etc). The hotel went above and beyond to help us resolve our problems. Special thanks to Plum, who was so nice and friendly and was so professional and efficient to resolve issues for us. Hotel has plenty of restaurants and street food everywhere and is very near the lake. Beautiful pool and sky bar too.Everyone was very friendly and helpful, from the bellboys to the front desk staff. They even gifted my mom who has a bad knee a herbal compress from the spa. Small details and kind gestures made our stay here so special. 5 stars to the peridot team!

Hotel is in a great location and we had a comfortable stay. Our room was a two bedroom with a kitchen, which was nice and spacious with two kids. Bathrooms had a couple of spots where moisture was getting at the corners and paint was peeling. Also one of the beds has a whole in the headboard. We are pretty easy going so none of that bothered us or affected our stay.

Stunning Hotel With Fantastic Services! I just stayed at Melia Hanoi hotel for 01 night for my business trip but it was easy to recognize the differences between this hotel and others. Even the builiding outside is not so impressed however inside the hotel all concepts make the significant differences. The Bar in the lobby has the very nice space and really help in the summer time when need place for talking to friend or partners. The restaurant with the stunning breakfast buffet. it seems we could found any dishes in this breakfast buffet and all food were delicious. the hottess was very helpful when buffet was full and still escort and find a table for you. I stayed in premium room with nice living room and bedroom room. nothing could find to complain. All staffs were helpful and polite. the door girl with nice Melia long dress always smiling and help to the guest even the temperature outside over 40 degree. The hotel should stay in Ha Noi.

My partner and I stayed here October 2022 for 3 nights and loved it. The check in process was really easy, friendly staff and quick process. The rooms were very spacious, bed was massive and comfy, basic amenities included (hair-dryer, tea & coffee, waters provided everyday, toothbrush & toothpaste etc). The bathroom was nice, hot water and great water pressure too. The wifi was very reliable and fast. Each morning the house-keeping staff would provide two new bottles of water for us which was a nice touch. Although stated that there was breakfast included when we asked about it they said they don't offer breakfast anymore which was a bit frustrating but nevertheless the hotel was in a good location so only a short walk away from a cafe or get grab food delivered.

We stayed in the Hanoi Marvellous last weekend in interconnecting rooms. There are only 2 rooms on the 8th floor so we had the floor to ourselves. Our stay was excellent. The location is very central to the lake and the centre of the city. The staff are extremely helpful and give excellent information about places to see, transport etc. The rooms are large and very clean and the bathrooms are well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast is excellent with plenty of fruit, breads, cereal, yogurts, juice etc as well as cooked eggs. The staff go above and beyond to offer help and hospitality. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I stayed here multiple times during the trip in Vietnam, they allowed us to store the luggage we didn’t need every time until we came back as well assisting and being very friendly with anything else we needed assistance with.

Stayed 3 nights and it was a nice stay. The service was incredibly attentive including Tracy and all the other staff which took the time to make sure we had everything we needed from directions to places to eat. Bed was soft and room clean. Location wise it’s very central near restaurants, bars and the lake but not too busy it’s frustrating. Be sure to check out the weekend night activities around the lake because there is so much community activities with people having a great time from line dancing, kpop dancing, skipping traditional games and more.

We moved to the Sunline Hotel in Hanoi after spending a couple of nights up the road. Very happy with the change, extremely reasonable with the price and a great positionin the Old Quarter. Be aware that unless you pay top $$, the rooms in Hanoi are not big, so be prepared for that, but it shouldn't matter; we were hardly in the room. Great to get a room high up as there are some great views to be had of the lake and surrounding areas. The staff were extremely friendly and able to help with any questions. The hotel also held our luggage while we did trips to Ninh Binh and Sapa. Taking one star off because we found the breakfast to be quite poor. Whilst included, we only ate there once as it always looked tired and needed refreshing. However, I wouldn't make that a reason not to stay there.

This is a hidden gem in the midst of the old quarter. A part of Hanoi where a myriad of shops selling a huge range of goods exists next to Hanoi's seemingly endless coffee shops. In very European architecture These small shops are bustling throughout the day. The hotel is nestled comfortably up a side street accessible via both stress, though only one is used by taxis. The staff are extremely friendly and make it their business to ensure the traveller is well looked after. Rooms are clean and come with a stocked fridge with Beer and soft drinks. The air conditioning is superb and in near 40C heat it is so welcoming. The balcony is large. Almost a second room in itself. Sit on the balcony in the evening during a thunder storm and watch the light show in the night sky...tremendous. With the balcony walls being solid, privacy is guaranteed as is safety...not going to fall off this. Breakfast is a pleasant mix of western and Asian. Cold cuts or cooked food. Eggs done by the chef to order. The hotel has a small travel desk so do ask about places to visit. Staff are very knowledgeable. Top tip: get the GRAB or BE app to book your taxis and avoid cab hailing....the risk of being scammed is very high. One final thought...not far is Railway Street. I won't spoli it....go and find out what happens. Get a daily timetable of trains. It is an experience. Highly recommended.

Pros: I loved the upgrade we recieved after a long journey. Our hostess put us on the top floor of her new hotel a few doors down from the original booking. I admit, I was a bit scared at first but once I saw the new rooms, I was happy. There's a rooftop and and big windows. Lots of privacy since theres only two rooms on each floor. Theres a roof and small lobby. You can still hear noise but its not as much since youre in the alley. Our host also hooked us up witb sleeper bus tickets and tours. It was alot less than others around. Cons: Since we were moved into the new hotel, we stayed for 4 nights and didn't get our rooms cleaned. There were a few times they tried to finish putting in the wallpaper and it disrupted my sleep and plans. They eventually didn't do it while I was there. Our laundry cost was a bit higher compared to the surrounding cost (walk on the main street and youd get it done for 1/3 off). Although there are cons, I'd say the people here are very nice and try their best to help. The price is great for the value and I would stay again next time.

Stayed here with my partner during our time in Hanoi. Beautiful building with lots of character. The plants out front have grown loads over the last few years and the front reception area has become a lush, private jungle. The staff had been very easy to contact prior to our arrival to arrange hotel transfers and when we arrived we were greeted with wonderful hospitality. They are so knowledgeable and accommodating. Our plans had to be rearranged a little due to flooding in central Vietnam and luckily we were able to extend our stay an extra night, and the staff recommended a group tour with one of their partner companies. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with balconnettes to enjoy the bustling city views. Big bathrooms as well! Breakfast was fresh fruit, bread, yogurt, etc plus eggs cooked your way or traditional pho. Always came quickly! The hotel is in the old quarter, tucked down the side of an alleyway. Its central but quiet due to its location. Only 5 minutes walk to the Cathedral and loads of shops and food options around. Thank you so much to the team at Madison d’Orient for your hospitality during our stay, we will absolutely be back if we come back to Hanoi!

I did a quick research on T.A of the most convenient, high rated and affordable stay in Hanoi, and this place popped up. I trust (for the most part) the reviews on trip advisor before booking a place. This place worked out just fine. They were very responsive via email, sent a welcome message and asked if they can be of any additional service before arrival. Very professional, in my opinion. Upon arrival, the check in was pretty streamlined. They offered a selection of attractions, but were not at all pushy. Everything was explained well. My room was basic, but clean. AC was super cold. No elevator, but this is a hostel. I wasn’t expecting luxury. The bed was much more firmer for my liking, but again, this isn’t the Hilton. Great value for your money, in the heart of Hanoi. Everything seemed in line with the price I paid for the lodging. I decided to take them up on booking a trip to the Ha Giang loop for 3 days. There was some communication breakdown regarding my expectations upon my arrival in Ha Giang, but they took care of the problem without any hassle. Thumbs up. Things always happen, you can’t avoid that, so it’s really how the issue gets resolved that matters. Thank you for that. Also, the entire staff was top notch pleasant to deal with. I don’t remember all the names, but the one that I do ( i apologize for that) is Linh. Thank you again for a memorable stay.

Pros: Nice and clean. Cons: No safe or breakfast. Stayed Nov-2022 for 1 night with breakfast. Booked hotel Vertis but a large group were checking out late so Jenny the receptionist took me to this upgrade sister-hotel on the same street. 2-rooms per floor. Lift but no safe. Kettles, cups, tea and coffee. Bathroom separated with glass wall, however was wallpapered over for modesty reasons. Hotel does not do breakfast but I was allowed to go to my original hotel Vertis for breakfast.

Our first time in Vietnam and our experience from the extremely noise heavy traffic that we arrived at our hotel. We was greeted by Mr Tom in a friendly and professional manner. We were offered complimentary welcome drink and refreshing fruits, which is a nice from the humid weather. Our lovely host Ms Rose who is so friendly and always smiling showed us to our room. The room was on 5th floor facing St Joseph's cathedral is very spacious and clean with in room / bathroom amentities. Their was plenty of selections for our breakfast buffet which the staff was brilliant. General Manager Mr Harry and his team makes this hotel run high level of service such as staff member Ms Rose and D A which I'm glad I met as I learnt alot within 10 minutes knowing him. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about his country. Good point - close to tourist attractions (St Joseph cathedral, lake, train street, night market and many more locations. - friendly and professional staff - clean and tidy - Clean room by room attendance Consider point - Was told over the phone that the water, crisps and snacks in room are free besides the mini bar as we were charged on checkout for the snacks and crisp. Maybe when shown to the room that the host will mention or a note on display informing guests. - If you are a light sleeper then the cathedral clock goes off from 05:00am and throughout the day. I am a long time traveller and only write comments on 2 cases: to warn people or just when I am realy amazed.... For this hotel goes the last!!! I loved the good architecture inside the building and the rooms. The breakfast is like European standard for 3xxx hotels: a lot of choice, good taste and service with a smile... Talking about a smile; you will meet Jenny..... I think the possitive reactions are for a great deal because of her....Her English is perfect, she’ll manage every situation and when she see the waiter on the breakfast is very busy; without a doubt, she will help him out! So if you are looking for a splendid choice in midrange prices and just right in the center of everything....don’t hesitate to book it! Eric from Holland.
