Hotels near Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory in Florence

We arrived at the hotel pretty late as we were travelling from Rome. Gabriele was pretty prompt and sent us all the necessary information ahead of our arrival as the reception service was until 3pm on Sunday. The room was surprisingly nice and clean, and indeed exceeded our expectation. Even though for just a night I thought this was a pretty good one. Nearby hotel has a nice pasta restaurant Al Peposo, just need to walk about 10 mins. Day time you can just walk towards town areas, you won’t get bored with the surroundings.

We stayed for 3 nights in April, the Hotel was clean, convenient, quiet and comfortable. The staff were lovely without exception. Everyone from the front desk to the breakfast staff and room service were friendly and helpful making us feel very welcome. Our room was at the rear of the hotel (204) with a balcony which was a pleasant surprise. The view was nothing special as it overlooked the rear of other properties but it was nice and comfortable and very quite. There is a Spa that you can book for your exclusive use. This is sometimes included in your deal but otherwise is 25 euros each for 50 minutes and well worth it. The view from the roof top is superb and you can get a drink from the reception bar and take it up there or even take your own bottle of wine! Breakfast centres mainly on pastries, fruits and meats. There is a “hot” option of eggs and bacon but is only ever warm at best. However, the pastries are very nice and more than enough available. It also has to be the most convenient trip I have ever experienced from Airport to hotel! Exit the airport turn left and walk to the tram stop about a minute away. Take the T2 tram to UNITA and get off at Rosselli. That’s it!, it takes about 20 minutes and when the t4am leave you will be facing the hotel. It cost 1.50 euros each. You can buy the tickets on the tram platform but I would visit the shop Hudson as others have mentioned on here and get them there as there can be a queue to get your ticket on the platform. Don’t forget to slide it into the machine to validate it when you board. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk for the “Dome” in the centre and about 25 minutes to the bridges on the river. There are some excellent restaurants such as Casa Ciabattini and Osteria Vecchio Cancellous within 6/7 minute walk both of which I would highly recommend. I would not hesitate to return.

What a friendly and clean hotel! Convenient, excellent continental breakfast (even included eggs!), and superb staff to help with everything. Miguele, at the front desk was especially helpful with our entire 3 day stay. Parking was a big bonus, not usually included in this price range.

I think this is a hotel that is missing out on its appearance. You might think it's a strange hotel because of its very busy exterior. The interior is very clean and the hotel is very comfortable. The common space is large and there are vending machines, which is very convenient. The other guests have a high level of civility, and many of them are well-mannered and have common sense. You won't have to worry about unwanted guests. Hotels in central Florence can be extremely expensive. There are many facilities that are not worth the price. Personally, even if it takes a little more time to travel, I felt it would be better to start from this hotel.

This hotel was brilliant. My friend and I came to celebrate her 44th and can I say the hotel is NOT full of students as some reviews have said, there all a huge range of demographics and nationalities. The hotel itself is so cute and well decorated. Very kitsch. The staff were SUPERB! I feel bad that I can’t remember their names but I do remember Francesca from reception. What a girl! She helped us get dinner reservations, what bars to go to and had a wicked humour! From the pool bar - Candi. So chatty and sweet! Breakfast was brilliant. Not sure what some people are complaining about? You’re not going to get a 100000 calorie American breakfast. This is Europe. We had scrabbled eggs on toast each morning. There are sausages and bacon if you want. The. We had some fruit and yogurt, followed by a pain au chocolate or a croissant and jam. I usually had a bread and cheese as well! More than enough to get you going. Lavazza coffee too. We went to go out in our first Friday and as we came down there was a DJ and a free bar with popcorn, pretzels, and crisps as the hotel is very inclusive and community focused. The hotel is also very environmentally aware so to read reviews about people moaning that their towels and bedding weren’t changed- please! Nobody and I mean nobody fainted their towels and sheets every day in our own houses. It’s once or twice a week. The damage to the environment and the increased costs to hotel rooms are as a direct result of people like YOU. My only little niggle was that there was a fabulous Nespresso machine but the coffee was not filled daily, however a quick call to reception and we had some brought to the room. We didn’t use the pool due to some bad weather and plans in the day but we sat up there having a drink and people had clearly been swimming so I don’t think that’s an issue either. The view from the pool bar is UNREAL. I literally mean it’s spectacular. They have games such as table tennis and fusball and swings in the entrance which my friend and I had a go on after a tipsy evening. I’m won’t talk about how amazing Florence is as a city as that’s a whole other review. But this hotel is fantastic as long as you’re fun and are open to a new experience

Thank you :) Our experience at the hotel was great. In many ways this hotel was ideal for us, it wasn't right in the city center where all the noise is, but it was close enough to it (about half an hour's walk to the train station with a suitcase and bags). The hotel staff was excellent, very kind and respectful with lots of good and efficient advice. The room was spacious enough and clean and we didn't lack anything. One weak point was for us and it was the bed which was a double bed but, it was connected by two mattresses, and an air conditioner that worked but made a lot of noise. In conclusion, if you don't mind walking to the city center (I strongly recommend everyone to walk and not use public transport, there is a lot to see on the way :) ) And you are looking for the hotel staff to be nice, polite, experienced, know the surroundings and know how to give you tips, this is the hotel check for you. I made a booking and payment through the application Booking.com for a night. Upon checking-in, the lady on the front desk told me that there is no reservation under my name. I showed her the copy of the payment I did and the email of confirmation I received. After 10 minutes of checking their system, she apologized and told me there was something wrong with their computer. I should have read well all the reviews and not just looked at the 4 ⭐ label this hotel have because the establishment is already old. There was even a leak on the lobby where the staff just put a couple of white towels. When we entered our rooms and bathrooms, we did not expect them to be in such conditions. The hotel definitely needs proper maintenance. The walls are dirty and stained. Along the corridor the paint and the cabinets are old. The ceiling of the bathroom has bars, but you can see the rust/mold accumulated. When we went to the bar for the breakfast (which was also included in my booking), the server told me that we do not have the breakfast included. I was about to go to the front desk when the same lady apologized and told me that yes we can do the buffet. We paid very low for one night that is why we were not expecting much from the said buffet..croissant and coffee to heaten our tummies will do good. The good side we noticed is with regards to the staff. They all seem of the same age (nearly 60s). It is possible that they've been working in the hotel for many years meaning the management is good..just need to pay some attention to the maintenance of their establishment. Thank you!

Few minutes walk from the station past McDonald’s (exit the station from the left). Hotel is set back so can easily be missed. We had a room for three, one double bed and a low camp bed. Rooms made up everyday and towels changed frequently. Wardrobe with plenty of hangers, safe, complimentary water in fridge. I asked if we could have a kettle and this was no problem. Bathroom quite big, shower cubicle with toiletries. Lovely white, big bath towels. Great location for lots of great restaurants and only minutes away from attractions. Rooms are quite warm but there is air con. Breakfast consists of yogurts, fresh fruit, breads, croissants, scrambled eggs and great coffee. Hotel staff are so helpful, even printed out our tickets for one of our trips. Would stay there again, next time exit the train station from the left!

It's very nice to be able to go directly from the train station with just one tram ride. At this price, you have to bear the tram for about 20 minutes. + The area is very pleasant. (There is nothing bad about it) Still, I liked the scenery and had a good night! +There is a balcony!!! (It feels good to go out at night)
