We headed to Chester for the night to go to The Chester Playhouse to see a live show and The Mecklenburgh Inn was the perfect spot! Located right downtown in the thick of things it was super convenient and we were were easily able to walk all around. Just steps from the oldest pub in Nova Scotia, The Fo'c'sle Pub, as well. The Inn was charming and quaint and Suzie was a super host. The room was very nice and the bed was super comfortable. The breakfast Suzie made for the guests the next morning was delightful and delicious and we made a few friends too. We loved our time at The Mecklenburgh Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone else!

We were greeted at this beautiful Inn by our friendly host, and enjoyed a room with all amenities thoughtfully prepared. The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic and unique. The location is very convenient for exploring the south shore of Nova Scotia. Our host was very helpful with providing itineraries and restaurant suggestions.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay here. Suzi was sooo welcoming and made you feel as if you were at home. The room's were beautifully arranged, cozy, bright and clean. The bed was very comfortable. You could clearly tell that every detail was accounted for in order to provide a relaxed stay. We were lucky to meet the sweetest kitty, Panda, while we visited. She was the cutest. The inn is right downtown, which allowed easy access to local pubs and breweries within walking distance. Breakfast was delicious! It was a privilege to stay here and we will definitely be back😊.

Absolutely charming! I have admittedly little experience with B&Bs, but this place was a delight. Easy to find, easy to park, the owner Suzy is delightful. Adorable things catch your eye everywhere you look in this lovely and massive older home. Beds are comfortable, rooms are unique, bathrooms are lovely and have the amenities you would need. There's a delightful upper deck where we spent our evening chatting and sipping wine. Easy walking distance to pretty much everything in town. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Definitely would choose here again.

We have had the most incredible experience in Chester Nova Scotia. We stayed at the Mecklenburgh Inn for 4 nights. Suzi has created a unique and extraordinary experience for her guests. We woke to the most delicious breakfasts, and were given assistance to make our day experiences around Nova Scotia easy and exciting. We toured in many different areas and kept our sleep destination in this beautiful cozy home. The sleeps were incredible. Beds are comfy. Rooms are immaculate. The entire inn was what you would expect to get and actuality more. You feel like you are home away from home. Having a place to stay that you can venture out daily to sights within an hour or so and have a familiar place to come back to. It just made the trip that much better. We couldn’t recommend staying here more to anyone. Chester itself is such a wonderful town. While we made sure to tour around, we made sure to give back to such a great community. The galleries carry local artists that are extremely talented. The food at the Rope Loft is something you won’t want to miss either. And a hop skip and a jump from the inn.

Chester is a charming nautical enclave on the Lighthouse Route in Nova Scotia, and the Mecklenburgh Inn is THE place to stay while enjoying the serenity of the town. There are four well appointed guest rooms, all with private bath. The Mecklenburg's proprietor and host, Suzi, is a Cordon-Bleu-trained chef, and there is no mistaking that qualification, given the gourmet breakfasts that are without equal. It was our first, stay, and certainly won't be our last.

My husband and I checked into the historic Mecklenburgh Inn 4 days after the storm, Fiona. Seeking a bit of respite ( and electricity) after the storm, we surely found it at Suzi’s inn. The home is charming, comfortable and lovingly ( I suspect) appointed with handsome furnishings ,wall hangings, art and hand hooked rugs. Our room was spacious, gently yet generously lit, and immaculate …sumptuous bed, linens , Frette bathrobes were greatly appreciated after a good hot shower. The morning meal and coffee was a treat, served with a touch of elegance. I would definitely recommend and return for another ‘staycation ‘.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night while on a multi-day bike riding trip through the beautiful villages of Nova Scotia. Staying at this Inn provided one of the highlights of our tour. The room was spacious, welcoming, and had wonderful touches such as bathrobes and Italian sheets for the bed. Suzie was a wonderful host and made a terrific, memorable breakfast. We would love to stay here again.
