The staff were very helpful at all times , the food was great the hotel was fantastic very clean and tidy, the Guinness was the best, and bar staff very professional

We stayed one night and had a round of golf the course and staff at the club house where great. the hotel itself was grand and staff also very good. only downside is the hotel is in Bundoran the town itself was awful the staff in every bar where rude will never be back in Bundoran.

My daughter and I went away for 3 nights we had a lovely stay and the staff were so nice and the pool was brilliant I couldn't get my daughter out of it lol,food was nice and nice family feel to it ,the rooms were nice if I had one negative thing it would probably be no water in the room but it's not a big deal,thank you

Hotel is a bit dated but this I can handle, what I couldn't handle was paying €200 for a night and not being able to take a shower the next morning. Water was scalding hot and couldn't adjust to get it colder. when I mentioned this to reception the young lady on the desk was totally disinterested. Bar staff were friendly and bar food was good.

Lovely weekend here except for lift breaking down... Accessible wheelchair rooms need to be on ground floor especially when no fire regulations were in place (only found this out on the day)for wheelchair persons hotel has assured us this will be rectified Would have been 5* only for this.food excellent staff so helpful and friendly

A group of over fifty people stayed in the Great Northern Hotel from Sunday 28th April to Thursday 2nd May, 2024. We find this hotel excellent for their food, accommodate and entertainment every evening. We have stayed in this hotel many times and we keep returning. We cannot praise the staff enough for their help and super service nothing is a bother to them. We want to say that we feel that the name GREAT Northern Hotel is exactly the right name because they certainly go beyond to living up to the name Great.. Scenery is breathtaking and the walk around the hotel is absolutely stunning. We are all alrready looking forward to second break in October when we will be staying at the Wesport Woods Hotel Spa and Leisure Centre.

Called in for food on Saturday evening, the lady at reception said for us to eat in the bar. We sat at the table for about 20 minutes waiting to be given menus and for our drink order to be taken, we ended up just going to the bar to ask for a menu, which was on a white a4 sheet of paper, for a 4* hotel. We sat for a while waiting for our order to be taken, we should have got up and left at that stage. When our food arrived we still hadn’t got our drinks we’d ordered 20 mins prior so we again had to go to the bar and ask for them, we ordered two cokes, both of which were flat! I ordered the stuffed Turkey and ham, but I was served a plate of roast beef? (Roast beef wasn’t even on the menu) I never said anything because we had waited long enough. When the food arrived it was cold, bland and poorly presented, my partner ordered the burger and it was like something out of the chip van, it was like frozen shop bought, wasn’t good. The menu was basic & didn’t have an option of sides nor dessert. The high chair they provided our 6 month old was broken, so we had to swap it. The hotel itself was absolutely freezing inside. In the ladies toilets the two bottles of dove soap had no soap in them and were filled with water, a 4* hotel lacking basic items. This hotel has went downhill badly, we know to avoid again in the future.

Stayed at the hotel for two nights. Upon arrival hotel looked nice when entering but from there that’s how the good part finished. Room allocated to us needed to be freshened up, paint work was poor, toilet didn’t flush properly, bathroom was dated so much so that we didn’t feel comfortable to use the bath/shower. We had an included evening meal on the first night. The starter was poor, the main courses were inedible so much so we got up and left and explained to the head waiter and his reply was just “ok” He didn’t offer an apology or an alternative to eat. We went to our room furious and hungry. It is obvious that the waiter never reported this to management! This out of all the hotels we have stayed in has to be the worst. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

My husband and children were so disappointed in our stay .location is beautiful,front foyer is lovely and bedroom was spotless but that's where it ends. Service was slow.Food was mediocre. Menu- a piece of paper,Menu choices not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel charging top rates,could be forgiven had the food been delivered in a timely manner and edible. Breakfast was terrible Cold buffet ,( from a hot buffet counter)...Worst of all my girls were violently ill later that day. Need I say more.we will not be returning and as a Hotel Manager myself would I question their abilities in the kitchen department.....
