Bedsheet, bed, pillow cases are a bit old and cleanliness aren’t very ideal. I was feeling itchy the entire night. Rest including locations and hardware are good.

Our stay at Anantara Uluwatu was absolutely fantastic. This was our third time choosing Anantara, and once again, they exceeded our expectations in terms of service and cleanliness. The staff members were friendly, responsive, and always ready to assist. The room was spacious, complete with a private pool. During our stay, we were delighted to receive complimentary photography sessions, meals, and massages. It was a truly superb welcome!
However, there is room for improvement in terms of maintenance for some of the hotel amenities. Aside from that, everything else was perfect for our holiday.

A very unique hotel. Not new at all. The rosy style is an attempt to surprise upon check-in. The next day it becomes clear that the staff does not always cope with their tasks. The reception staff creates more of a semblance of efficiency, although they very quickly forget about requests, make mistakes in the information received. The advantages are good cuisine. Stylish menu, fast service in the restaurant. Also a convenient swimming pool with pleasant free goodies from the staff. That's where the advantages end. The disadvantages are a terrible location by the road. There is no parking for taxis. If a car drives up to the hotel to drop off passengers, then all traffic on the road is blocked. An area for bikes, which you hear all night. The hotel is on a slight rise, which causes the heart-rending sounds of transport going uphill. Behind the hotel are all the delights of the local residency with roosters, cows, their sounds and smells, slightly diluting the smell of exhaust fumes from the road. The beach is a fake. A small sandy patch with a paid umbrella. 250-300 square meters of rookery for 200 people. All under the supervision of local guardians of intrusive service from the educators of local monkeys. Entrance to the beach is paid. The descent to the beach is a quest for flexibility, the ascent is a quest for cardiovascular endurance. I do not understand how this place can be called a beach and why child bloggers rank this place in some tops of Bali beaches. This is not a place to relax. Unless you were born and raised in a yurt beyond the Arctic Circle and suddenly teleported to Bali .. If I came to Bali for the first time and ended up in this place, I would never come to the island again. A terrible area. Thank God that this was the fourth train to Bali and there is something to compare with. Still, the calling card of Bali is Ubud. Lived in Ubud - visited Bali. Uluwatu is the bottom of relaxation. Two days of staying at the hotel can be tolerated, but five days is money thrown away, time wasted, illusions about the absoluteness of a vacation in Bali dispelled. As for the hotel, the price for accommodation is twice as high. The pink style does not cover the discomfort of staying in this area.

Very good experience. You can see a very good view from the rooftop. The most unforgettable time is sunset. You can swim in the pool and watch the endless sunset.Breakfast is included 7 to 10 am.Light snacks are served in the evening until 7pm.After 7pm, there is a live band start at 7pm. The room is fully equipped with hair dryer. The only problem is that the internet is not that good in this area. But it is acceptable.Very memorable.

The shuttle bus was slow, and the butler service was slow to respond. I added WeChat and there was no response for an hour several times. The hotel hardware is OK, and the environment is beautiful. The food tastes very average, and the breakfast is not very good. The service and catering are indeed far behind Raffles. In comparison, the kids club feels the best. The waiters are very enthusiastic in playing with the children, and there are also rich activities.

The hotel has a good location and a beautiful view of the ocean from the reception.
The room has a new air conditioner and a new TV with smart TV. That's where all the pluses end.
The hotel is not well maintained, the balconies are all old and dirty. The pool is dirty - you can't swim in it, the gym is dirty and you can't touch the exercise machines (by the way, not all of them were working). There were blood stains on the bed linen. The breakfast items are not replenished, so if you don't have time, you'll be eating rice with fried noodles.
If you only need to spend one night - it's bearable, but staying longer - definitely not.

What I liked:
- Wonderfully secluded location and very quiet. Very peaceful environment with the sounds of nature around you.
- we stayed in treehouse C which was spacious and beautifully designed
- Pool is stunning both in terms of its design and outlook with views over all of Uluwatu and to the coastline beyond
- Guest Services highly responsive on WhatsApp
- staff granted me late check out so I could do a work video call from my room before departing
- the included breakfast in Octagon restaurant was delicious and offers many options. Charging for a second juice seemed a bit cheap though
- the food at La Cima restaurant is excellent
- the staff, particularly the cleaning staff, are very kind and sweet
What I didn’t like:
- curtains in the room are not blockout and there are lights in the garden which remain on at night (cannot be controlled or turned off from within the room) so light shines through the window which can make it a little hard to sleep. On the second night we messaged the staff about this and they covered the lights in the garden for us which made it a lot better
- some of the restaurant prices are very expensive such as the smoothies and fresh juices
- service in La Cima restaurant was a bit hit and miss. Staff spend a lot of time chatting to each other and not paying attention to the customers. At lunch one day it took multiple goes to get the attention of the staff to order - we saw this happen to the table across from us also. We had to ask one staff member 3 times before he turned the overhead fans on in the restaurant (on a 33 degrees celsius day!)
- we had dinner by the pool each night and the staff would close the bill after each order. This was quite annoying as we had to open and sign a new bill (often with wet hands while we were in the pool) each time we wanted to order more drinks or dessert. I would understand this if we weren’t staying at the hotel but we were hotel guests and the staff knew who we were and which treehouse we were staying in. If the staff were worried about us going back to our room and not signing the bill they could tell us at the start of dinner that they’ll keep the bill open but we need to walk down from the pool down into the restaurant to sign the bill before leaving - we would have been happy to do this
- the staff placed lanterns beside us on our first night having dinner by the pool. On the second night they didn’t give us lanterns and we ate in the dark. Quite an inconsistent experience
- I had a couple of cold showers at night after returning from the pool at 9pm - the hot water seems to turn off early
- no TV in the room. I get it’s more of a natural retreat however my partner and I had been waiting for our holiday to watch some movies together but couldn’t do this at the Grun

Cons:

- there were construction sounds any time of day/night
- A hair dryer, an iron and ironing board were mentioned in our room description but they were not provided

We stayed for 5 days in this hotel, the hotel area is well-groomed and beautiful, it has its own access to the beach, unfortunately the beach is dirty, there is a lot of garbage. We booked a deluxe bungalow, the bungalow itself is not bad, but only one air conditioner works and this is really not enough in the heat. There are many cracks in the bungalow through which cold air escapes and many insects fly in. On the one hand, it’s nice that you feel like you’re in nature, but on the other hand, it’s a little uncomfortable if you’re staying for more than one night. The worst thing was that we were given one of the last bungalows on the territory, the hotel territory is surrounded by a fence, and behind the fence there is a road on which bikes constantly growl and stray dogs bark, this made it very difficult to sleep, really!!! There are several such bungalows, which are next to the fence, so be careful when you move in))))

Outstanding
LLuanna Cardoso deArriving at the hotel I immediately smelled the mould. The hotel is beautiful but smells. We were kindly received at the door, they picked up our luggage, and served us a welcome drink while we did the check in. I started to sneeze and my nose clogged so I explained I was allergic to dust and I would like a room with more sunlight and wind. When we entered the room the musty smell was unbearable. I immediately complained and they promptly found another room without carpets. I believe it was an upgrade. They also sent us an apology card with fruits and chocolates. Unfortunately, the new room was still smelly, not as smelly as the first one, but we accepted as we were super tired and didn’t want to wait any longer. Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
Shower pressure was fantastic
Breakfast was great, they had options like avocado toast, salmon bagel, burritos, and a variety of international options
Bed was comfortable
Swimming pool Temperature was perfect and the bar very convenient with great drinks
Beach is clean and not crowded
Sunset is beautiful
The restaurants had a good environment and good food. A bit pricey, but overall worth it.
Cons:
Mould. This is actually the only reason I wouldn’t go back to this hotel. The smell is in the room and the entrance mainly. The rest of the areas are okay. This hotel was built in 1993, so I have to say that if it wasn’t for that, the hotel would be in amazing condition.
Service by the pool was very slow, my husband tried to get a beer first thing when he arrived and only after calling the waiter twice they brought him the beer, but it was room temperature! 😞
Coconut water and beer were not cold, they actually offered ice, but it just made it watery and tasteless.
Bike rental can only be used inside the hotel, and they don’t tell you that when you rent it. I tried to go out to cycle in the surrounding area and they didn’t allow me to go. After complaining, the charged me half price for the rent. I only used inside the hotel and at the beach in front of the hotel.
Concierge service was very slow and inefficient. He didn’t have packages to offer, photos, or videos. Everything was searched on Google right in front of us. The only option given was a private driver that could take us anywhere we wanted to go. The problem is that we didn’t know the places, so we were expecting a better introduction to the island and the activities. We ended up doing our own research and hiring the driver.
Transfer from hotel to airport costs 430,000 RP, but if you get a grab (similar to Uber/Didi) it will cost you less than 80,000 RP.
Overall, the hotel is a good option if you can tolerate the smell. That’s the only reason I wouldn’t recommend it. Otherwise it was a great stay for the price.
YYoichiThe best hospitality and hotel design ever.
It’s the perfect to be relaxed at hotel although accesses to places to visit are not so nice, you do not need to go out from this hotel if you want to enjoy staying at hotel.
SSankeerthana ChiramanaIt was a memorable trip with my family in Bali Hilton resort. Especially the memories we captured in the beautiful locations of the resort by Dreams Studio Bali, Geraldo and Eka.
Thank you and wonderful job by you guys !! when I now see the pictures on my wall, I feel really happy and think that I've taken a good decision to choose you guys to capture our memories!!
GGuest UserA very disappointing stay at this hotel. Issues started at check in and continued throughout our stay . Our family booked 5 rooms at the Alam KUL KUL and we all had issues with facilities and getting any action taken to address them . To start we visited the hotel in mid November 2023 to enquire about late checkout when we stayed in February 2024. The hotel reception were very pleasant in November and guaranteed that late checkout was easy and it was a great rate of 550.000 . The reception staff said that they had added the late checkout to our booking. When we arrived in February everything was different. First the reception staff questioned that we had visited in November and that we did not have late checkout added to our booking. They insisted that we name the hotel staff who we had spoken with in November. After much discussion we had the late checkout added but staff were less than friendly. Then they insisted we pay the extra money straight away. We said no problem but then my wife’s wise card wouldn’t work in their payment machine and staff kept insisting that the wrong pin was being entered. My wife had been using the card for the last 7 days in Bali with no issues. So I then gave them my wise card and was surprised when it wouldn’t work in their machine either. I also had been using my card daily in Bali with no issues. After much further discussion with hotel reception they said that we could pay at check out. We had already pre paid for all 5 rooms prior to this. On the day of checkout I received a request to contact reception as they had no records of us asking for late checkout. During several WhatsApp messages from reception they said that we had refused to pay for the late checkout and that we had stated that we would get it free. I was absolutely disappointed to receive these messages and we had never stated anything about free late checkout. The reception staff continued sending messages that were completely false statements. In reflection I think that the staff were trying to cover up the poor service lack of professionalism that they lacked. This were only a few of the small issues that arose during our stay . Our daughter and family had a mouse running around their room and it took staff 3 days to come and look at the room. There was never any offer to change rooms. Another family group had their air conditioning not working and it took 3 days for the hotel to address that issue . My wife ordered drinks during happy hour at the garden pool and when the bill came they wanted to charge full price and their staff stated that my wife had ordered room service! She was locked out of our room at the time because the electronic key kept failing.
On 3 separate occasions I asked to speak with the hotel manager to see if we could get better communication and service. Unfortunately the manager was always unavailable, so can only assume that is where the problem starts . Too important or don’t care about hotel guests.
Most of the hotels staff were extremely friendly and welcoming especially the restaurant staff.
The Alam is a very old property in a very good location. The rooms have been renovated and beds are comfortable. After visiting Bali about 16 times and staying in many different hotels and villas this was our most disappointing stay in Bali. It’s a shame that the small issues kept coming and that the hotel were either trying to cover up or complacent about.
NNrynI recently stayed at the Ramayana Hotel with a friend, and we had a fantastic experience! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the friendly and trustworthy staff who made us feel welcome.
Our room was clean and well-maintained, featuring a comfortable bed that ensured a great night's sleep. One small detail that stood out was the delightful scent of the soap provided—such a nice touch!
The amenities were excellent, and we really enjoyed making use of them during our stay. Overall, we had a lot of fun and felt right at home. I highly recommend Ramayana Hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay!
GGuest UserExcellent room. Really big with nice sitting area, balcony, good working desk. Also loved the bathroom.
Had some problems getting the safe to work but eventually were fixed.
There is not much micro economy outside and just one restaurant. I did manage to get Grab from the hotel.
The hotel runs a great shuttle to Semarapura and Goa Lawah, it's free but you tip the driver and guide and pay for entry to the various sites.
The spa area is nice but the treatment I had was not very good.
FFfern_elfRoom is nice and modern. Breakfast box is provided when requested for early Nusa Penida one-day trip. We found so many ants in the room, e.g., wall, working table, closet. Staff use insect repellent spray and it's kinda work. The security team is quite impressive, they help us get in the car and leading to our corrected elevator.
AAnonymous UserStaying here was a real retreat. The room which has pool access we booked was clean, spacious, intimate bcs there only a few room. Our room was very close to the dining gazebo where there were some plugs so we could working with our laptop with a sight of ricefields. the bathroom has a good warm water shower. I love when the morning sun can penetrate to the room. Nasi goreng and Mie goreng for breakfast are quite tasty. - But sometimes you can hear a gecko at night and unfortunately during our 2n3d stay, there were no one clean and make up our room. Also tissue and water didn't get refilled.
SShahriar ImranGreat central location
I stayed at Homestay Alam Pangkung for a night, really enjoyed its location in the city center where everything is within walking distance.
