Capella Ubud, Bali

Ubud Bali|1.09km from Love Bali Bike Tours
Capella in Ubud is a rare hotel that brings a unique vacation experience. The feeling of falling asleep with worms and frogs is awesome. Standing on the terrace and looking at a large area of tropical rain forest, the tent is surrounded by various large plants, as if living alone in the forest. All the buildings of the hotel, including the guest rooms, are tents. Every morning when you get up, you must roll up the tent curtains instead of opening the curtains. Many of the doors have mini windows that can be opened, and you can peep into the outside world when taking a bath or using the toilet. GM Mark said that many of the furniture and room decoration are private collections of hotel owners. They are rare objects of colonial and local mix and match. Needless to say, this kind of positioning hotel service may be due to the few guests I have in the past few days, which provided more than expected care for our trip, and I would also like to express my special thanks. The environment of the hotel is indeed a bit wild, which is more suitable for people who are adventurous, like novelty, and like to be close to nature, and may not be suitable for people who are small and fresh in the city and who are not very convenient in legs and feet. In addition, the meals upstairs in the hotel are very good, the seafood appetizers and snacks presented are delicious, and the meals are a lot. Try again next time. My wife always wanted me to play billiards with her, but I did not expect my wish to come true.

Alam Ubud Culture Villas and Residences

Ubud Bali|1.22km from Love Bali Bike Tours
Rooms - the beds are so uncomfortable. Springs in our sides all night. We had a private pool villa and made a point of making sure in advance the pool would have plenty of sun. It doesn’t. It is downstairs under the sleeping quarters so constantly in the shade and when you’re in the mountains it is just cold and damp. Ours also didn’t have a single place to sit. Not one chair / deck chair! So, we didn’t even use the pool area and was a waste of money. Service - they appear to be severely understaffed. While they chase you to order breakfast the day before and tell them what time you want it, you arrive to get breakfast and then almost order again and wait an hour for anything. Too bad if you were being picked up for a tour - you would miss eating. There seems to be one girl who is the waitress and also preparing half the food and drinks. She is run off her feet. Breakfast is also very average. We ended up just getting fruit. Housekeeping - this is the most responsive service and they do a very good job. Main facilities - there are 6 deck chairs at one pool and none at the other which is constantly in shade. Again - no real point trying to use these facilities. They also suggest there are guided walks and yoga yet no information provided on times or anyone trying to get you involved. Location - it is 30 minutes from Ubud. Too far and they know it will be hard for you to get food and drink so charge accordingly. If you run out of water, you will pay 3 times the amount you would in a store. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Ubud
A small, quite decent guesthouse with a few guest rooms, located in a quiet area, surrounded by rice fields. A nice room, richly and colorfully decorated, with a comfortable wide bed. Clean and large bathroom. A good and sufficient breakfast - you choose a set from several to choose from the day before, just as you determine the time at which you will go for breakfast. However, this is not a big problem. Very nice and helpful staff. Jacuzzi-sized pool. Near the guesthouse (5 minutes' walk) there is a very good and inexpensive Green Kubu restaurant offering a large selection of dishes. A path next to the rice field leads to the restaurant.

In the mountains north of Ubud, there is a feeling of paradise. The staff are friendly, the food is of good quality, and the WhatsApp responses are prompt. The only bad thing is that you can only use local villagers' cars to get out of the hotel. Taxi-hailing apps like Gojek cannot pick up guests. This is the self-protection of the local hills. Moreover, the price of local villagers’ cars is more expensive than that of taxi-hailing apps. Of course, you can use taxi-hailing apps to enter the hotel from outside.

The experience from check-in to check-out was very, very good. The hotel is very new and the location is quite suitable. It is not far from the downtown area and it takes about half an hour to take a taxi to Ubud to eat. The hotel itself has delicious breakfast and dinner and the price is very reasonable. The receptionist who received us yupik and sakun are very enthusiastic! I will still stay here next time I go!

The location is a bit biased, travel can only rely on the car, but the hotel staff is very nice, free to send me to a nearby supermarket. The environment is very good, that is, the sound insulation is almost, and then inevitably, there are many ant bugs... overall it is good, affordable

More about Bali

Introduction to Bali

Bali, an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, and stunning beaches, is the country's most famous tourist destination. Filled with ancient temples, rich arts and crafts, and a vibrant nightlife, Bali offers a kaleidoscopic blend of natural beauty and cultural depth.

Tips for Travelling to Bali

Bali's main international gateway is Ngurah Rai International Airport, located near the capital city, Denpasar. Travelers can explore Bali through taxis, local buses, bicycles, motorbikes, or even hired cars.

The official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Most hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, but having some cash on hand for local markets and smaller venues is recommended. Indonesian is the official language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

As for visas, many nationalities can enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days, but it's best to check before your journey.

Popular Attractions in Bali

Bali offers a wealth of cultural and natural attractions. Explore the ancient temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, or immerse yourself in the artistic heritage of Ubud, Bali's cultural heart. Visit the Tegalalang Rice Terraces and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary for unique experiences.

Bali's beaches are equally enticing, with Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Nusa Dua Beach offering vibrant beach life. Surfing enthusiasts will love the waves at Uluwatu and Canggu.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear

Bali enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures fairly consistent year-round. The best times to visit are during the dry season, from April to October. Bring lightweight, breathable clothing, a hat, and sunscreen to protect from the sun. Also, remember to dress modestly when visiting temples.
