I booked 5 hotels in Bali this time. This is the best one. The distance is a bit remote and the scenery is very good. The boss is so excellent and attentive, and the room is prepared with straw hats, rattan bags, special face towels, snacks, cocktails, coffee, and tea. The breakfast was very delicious and rich in variety. I didn’t know I couldn’t finish every item on the first day, haha, it was a waste. The service in all aspects of the hotel is good, but the sound insulation is a little bit. Maybe because the other rooms are in villas, the air conditioner in the room is a bit uncomfortable when it blows on the head. I wish the boss business is prosperous and getting better and better!

With professional drivers, like HERMAN, who knows the local routes. Herman gave us many tips and good ideas for visiting Bali/Ubud! The resort is well maintained everyday, by many gardeners. Yoga lessons in the Bamboo nest are the best. Super location with best value for money!

I ended up extending my stay here so this is my second review. Loved my stay here, very peaceful, service was great and the food was really nice. Only downfall is that it is a bit far from the city center of Ubud so just trying to leave the villa takes some planning. I’m a get up and go type of person so that is hard to do cause Grab in the area is not really possible. Otherwise, everything was great.

We stayed here for 3 nights out of 10 days in Bali. I am very sad to leave. We fell in love with the zoo so this place will always be a special place in my heart. The premises are very nice, high quality furniture and equipment, the rooms are quite spacious. There is a door on the balcony that opens when the elephant driver comes to take you to dinner! I highly recommend paying the extra for a garden view room - as the balcony can see the elephant. The food is also good - albeit mostly western. After riding the elephant that takes you to dinner, you can enjoy dinner at a table set up near the elephant in the zoo. The staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for them. Service with a smile. I have to say I was a little upset when I saw those elephants chained up. I thought they could roam freely. The staff advised me that they had to be chained up because of government regulations and if they weren't chained they would fight over food. Apart from being tethered they seemed to be well cared for and were fed several times a day. The area where they stay is cleaned regularly and is well maintained. Most of the day, the elephants were not tied up - as they were traveling with passengers, I frequently saw mahouts (who train the elephants) walking around the park with their elephants, even without travelers. A highlight of our stay was time with the elephants before the zoo opened for the day. We were able to bathe the elephants, which was an amazing hands-on experience. Those who visit the zoo with a day ticket cannot do this. You also have the chance to interact with the elephants without a lot of other travelers. The baby elephants are adorable - very smart and full of personality! The elephant talent show is amazing - they are such smart animals and it seems to me that the elephants were not brutally trained to be successful in a show After their performances, their trainers reward them with food. The spa is amazing, getting a manicure and looking out at the myriad of elephants is a wonderful experience. Massage here is expensive for Bali, but worth the extra price. The hostel is about 30 minutes away from Ubud and there are no other places to eat nearby. Transfer to Ubud is $20 one way (137 RMB), so you need to either go to Ubud for a full day or just stay at the hotel. Overall, a wonderful experience and we look forward to going back again. The Australian owner should be commended for following his dream and rescuing these wonderful creatures from an elephant camp in Sumatra.

I stayed here for one night and really enjoyed my time here. I met fellow travellers from around the world, all very lovely. The owners make it feel like a family, they cooked meals for me, organised taxis, mingled with the guests and were lots of fun and very welcoming. I had a bamboo hut to myself, it was cool and cosy. They have a nice pool too. It really lifted my spirits being here during this stressful time. I would highly recommend this place as they are just so friendly. Thank you guys, love Jade!!! X
