Bilgah Beach Hotel

You don’t get what you pay for. The prices are similar to London and Dubai, but the service is diabolical. The management seems to have collapsed now that it is no longer a Jumeirah resort but a local hotel. The only thing that seems to have remained from the Jumeirah days are the prices of everything, from rooms, to food, to activities. Poor service: Breakfast: whilst there was a ‘spread’, compared to other resorts it was limited, but perfectly adequate. The real issues were a lack of basic service and hygiene. Every day we had to deal with missing or dirty cutlery or napkins. Pepper dispensers not working Poor In-Room Dining: took over two hours to deliver 3 bowls of french fries. Poor telephone response: we had to call so many times for them to pick up and usually don’t even bother picking up, both at room service and even front desk in the evening. As we were leaving, we tried calling the front desk to send a bell boy, however, after many attempts with no response we just took our luggage down ourselves, including a push chair and children in tow! Poor restaurants: Way overpriced and food was okay but undoubtedly below what you expect for the price (expect to pay London restaurant prices). Poor variety and quality of food, very repetitive menus across the 2 restaurants and in room dining. No poolside service for food, just drinks. Often takes an hour to be served after ordering. Not providing simple things such as cutlery, napkins, spoon for stirring tea etc. Poor English: They often don’t understand simple requests. This sometimes escalates to them grunting and being unnecessarily rude. It is clear the staff have VERY little training. Poor Wifi: internet connection cuts out regularly, once for most of the day. If you need reliable connectivity for work or other purposes, carry a backup mobile wifi router (MiFi) with a local SIM card. Cancellations: bowling alley not working (for a year apparently), so very little to do when it rains. Unreliable front desk: the day before departure we booked an airport transfer, as we didn’t want to risk not getting a large enough vehicle for our family of five and luggage. However, the next day at check out, they had no record at all of the booking made the previous day and scrambled to get whatever car they could. To give some credit, they then provided that transport complimentary. Water park: this was the best managed aspect of the resort. Whilst there are many slides for small children, unfortunately the larger rides are not comparable to other water parks and teenagers may get bored quickly. Overall: Sadly, as things stand we cannot advise anyone to go there! They are pricing the resort as a top destination but the service and amenities are nowhere near that standard. Do not make the mistake we made of thinking it would still be of Jumeirah standard, it is not! Also, don’t believe the facilities they list on their website. When we put our concerns to the front desk manager, he

Walking 🚶♂️ 🚶♀️ distance from the airport, just walk directly to the hotel, you will see right infront of you. Quickly Bypass the Taxi Hawking parking lot into the path in the trees leading into the only building the Hotel, Walk through the beautiful Rosa Damascena, pass your hands on the fragrant Rosemary planted next to it The Hotel interior is beautiful and clean, the Staff give a good impression of how friendly Azerbaijani folks can be, from the Receptionist girl that checks you in, to the Door staff. The rooms will have more drinking water as I was dehydrated after the flight and the water was gone in seconds. Talked to the staff they said they will immediately start adding more bottles of drinking water to all hotel rooms, they did so as they showed me they have a whole storage room full of drinking water bottles. Breakfast was very nice, Breakfast Waiters were extremely helpful. Night Bar/Restaurant also nice, a very patient waiter went through all their Menu on phone then he went through the whole menu again in person, until he saw I was satisfied with my choices. Highly Recommended

Not a bad place, beautiful territory near the sea. Breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. failed due to early departure, but I was offered a ”sendwich” (dry bread and inside a cheese plate) with coffee without milk... which was very upset because breakfast was paid for 2 people. I was pleased that the receptacle can be exchanged. In general, I believe that the price is not in line.
Dreamland Golf Hotel Baku

Perfect place if you are looking for a peaceful stay far from Baku city. This place is around 30 mins from Baku City Center and 10 mins from the Airport. We had arranged transportation in Baku, so commute to and from the hotel was not a problem. The hotel does arrange taxi for you if you request, but its recommended to use Bolt app to get around Baku by taxi. At the time of check in, the hotel reception asked us for our vaccination certificates, which was the only place that asked to see our vaccination status during our entire trip to Azerbaijan. Rooms are spacious and had a balcony. The rooms facing to the back of the hotel have amazing views of the golf course. Each room is allocated for 2 guests, so additional guest have to pay 10 manat per night and another 10 manat for an additional bed. The room has an expandable sofa, which can also double as a bed for the extra guest. We found the room AC, WiFi and shower facilities to be good. The rooms had no mini bar, but there is a common mini bar in the lobby next to the reception. The hotel seemed lavish in providing sanitary kits. It was also interesting that each room had a Lavazza coffee machine, but only 2 capsules were complementary. Dreamland Hotel did not have a swimming pool which was disappointing for the kids. Hotel guests can enjoy 1 hour free golf session at the Golf Academy located behind the hotel. We were a bunch of amateurs, but we still had fun taking turns swinging and missing, ball after ball. The hotel is located inside Baku Golf City, which is a massive area with golf greens, water bodies, lot of villas and apartment complexes. The hotel is around 1 km from the Dreamland Golf City main gate and once inside you could easily get lost. It would have been really nice if the hotel provided guests with free / rented bikes to get around the golf city. The golf city seemed to be well maintained and has good recreational facilities which included bike tracks, kids play area and fountains. There is also a Bazarstore mini supermarket (Open from 9am to 8:30pm) and ATM in front of the hotel. Breakfast is from 8am to 12 noon at the panorama restaurant on the ground floor. The free breakfast included with the room was a standard breakfast (no buffet) which includes an egg of your choice, bread basket and a plate with few veggies, fruits and some condiments. Our kids did not like the breakfast, so we had to order pancakes which costed around 7 ₼/plate. The breakfast selection was disappointing and that's where I drop a star for Dreamland Golf Hotel, it was so uninspiring that for the remaining days of our stay here, we had to search for alternative breakfast options. They could definitely improve their breakfast, because the same restaurant did serve some amazing food when we went there for dinner.
