My wife and I have just returned from 6 days staying in this lovely 5 star hotel. Everything was perfect, stunning rooms, grounds, pool, and the staff were very friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and the food and buffet breakfast was superb. A WORD OF WARNING. We booked this Hotel through an online travel agent called Love Holidays and during the booking process ticked their Airport Transfer ADD ON for what we thought should be a 30 minute minibus ride. This turned out to be a 2 and a half hour transfer! as the enormous public bus stopped at almost every resort between the airport and Steigenberger. We arrived at the hotel late at night feeling very wound up but very thoughtfully the hotel had arranged some complimentary refreshments knowing what had happened. Needless to say we tore up the return voucher opting instead for a cab which cost 50 euros and took 30 mins! This is not the hotel's fault as these Online Travel agents are free to sell their ADD ON'S without agreement of the Hotels. Do yourselves a favour and either jump in a taxi when you arrive at the airport or phone the Steinberger and they will be happy to arrange one for you. One other thing....Love Holidays sold us what they call a pool side room which turned out to be a room on the 4th floor that may have been on the same side of the large building as the pool but didn't actually have any view of the Pool due to an inaccessible roof garden in the way! Whilst I'm sure the hotel would have done anything to accommodate us in an alternative room we didn't actually bother asking as we found we rather liked the privacy of our private balcony. If you want a room that actually overlooks over the pool I recommend calling the Steigenberger direct to book. With hindsight we wished we had booked direct for the whole holiday. Camp de Mar has a lovely beach.

Lovely clean room & great views - So much potential. We saw the signs for the 2024 renovation which is quite exciting! The staff at reception were great. The room was lovely, nothing fancy but clean and simple. Some greenery and a full length mirror would go a long way! If you book a sea view room the views are incredible. The breakfast was ok, could do with refining a bit. Unfortunately there are no longer sun loungers on the deck by the sea which was a real shame and we ended up going to camp del mar for a beach day. Had there been sunloungers we would have absolutely used them and furthermore if they had loungers for hotel guests to use (and non hotel guests!) they would earn more money as we would have ordered drinks & lunch etc. The area across the road from the hotel which in other establishments is bustling and packed all day long with drinkers and diners is unfortunately empty. The brismar hotel could make a fortune with its prime placement on the seafront if it so much as advertised that it was open for drinks/dinner. But as you walk past the empty seating there’s literally nothing to tempt you in. With a path-side menu, some ambient lighting and some greenery, they could probably make more in a day from food and drink than they do from overnight stays. It’s crazy to me that such an opportunity is being missed by this business.

4 star rating overall from me. There are imperfections, but I wouldn't read too much in to some of the recent very negative reviews. Located at the far end of Magaluf, towards Cala Vinyes, but within 10 minutes or so walk of the ”bright lights” of the ***** if wanted. I caught public bus A11 from the airport which takes around 40 minutes and drops less than a 10 minute walk away - all for the princely sum of 6.75 euros (that becomes cheaper if you tap on and off using a contactless card - but mine wouldn't work). A taxi is c. 50 euros. The beach is only a couple of minutes walk away out of the front door, albeit the slope / steps are quite steep and, not untypically for Spain, it appears the last couple of steps were never properly finished so have to be exited sidewards. We were a group of middle aged lads, occupying three rooms, one in block 2 (above reception) and two in block 1. The rooms varied but were all clean and tidy, TVs had a choice of UK channels, and (large refillable type) shampoo and shower gel were provided. My mini fridge was fully stocked (water, beer and soft drinks), but the other two rooms weren't (maybe because I'm a Hyatt club member and booked directly?). My safety deposit box needed a new battery that I had to follow up on day 2 for it to be fixed (they wanted me to be present to fix it). This hotel, that I suspect was born from amalgamation of 2 or maybe even 3 hotels, tries to be all things to all people - with clients ranging from young families with children, through couples, groups and the retired. It is large, with multiple pools, and a choice of food and drink venues were available (noting recent reviews about a slow start to the season, low occupancy and limited choice etc). Late afternoon check in was smooth and efficient for me, but I appreciate if bus loads arrive at the same time it could be lengthy. We were all inclusive and food and drink was generally good, albeit as others have noted, you need to keep an eye on things being fully cooked - we had to waste some under cooked chicken. Labelling was also an issue with some missing and others confused - baked beans labelled as ”small black pudding” being an example. See sample menus from Tapas and Burger ”Market Street” venues. We were able to use these ”specialities” at leisure, but I suspect they might be limited or need to be pre-booked in high season. There are some anomalies about what drinks are included - some cocktails are and others aren't. For example, Mojito is extra? The entertainment during our stay was mixed. The (newly arrived) team work hard, but things weren't perfect - the promised music quiz on our last night wasn't delivered for example. That said, the live singers weren't bad. We had a Beatles tribute band, and 90s retro live singers. The pools aren't heated, but were fine once you got in - the weather being mid 20's and sunny when I was there (9th to 13th May). HM Balanguera is a good hotel. It's located in a relatively calm street, with no much traffic. It's not in the very center of the city of Palma, but nevertheless the distance between the two points concerned isn't too long, and going on foot from one to the other turns up a nice walk. The hotel is very well decorated, particularly the lobby. It's very cosy thanks to being decorated with much taste. The breakfast room is somewhat special, There is a big table in the middle, at which all the guests having breakfast sit down and talk between themselves should the occasion arise. It's a nice way to associate with other people. The weak point as regards this room is that it's close to the kitchen, both rooms communicating with each other through a door. Most of time the door is open so that one can hear the yelling of the women working at the hotel. I used to close the door but it was again opened and thus we had to bear the said disturbance again. Another nuisance is the awful music played at breakfast time. Once I asked the receptionist kindly to reduce its volume. He was more than kind to stop the music completely, for which I was very grateful to him. The breakfast, by the way, is very good and abundant. Everything is of an excellent quality except the orange juice, which tastes too bad as to doubt on its artificial nature. The bedroom is quite peaceful and comfortable. I had a good stay at the hotel thanks to that. I hardly heard any noise while in the room. The bed is very comfy, it having a mattress with the right toughness for ensuring a good rest. And in the room there is everything needed for satisfying the necessities of the guests. I asked for a kettle and they kindly provided me with one. The staff members are all very kind and helpful. They do at every moment whatever possible to ensure that the guests feel as well as possible during their stay at the hotel. The hotel concerned is therefore a good place to stay in Palma de Mallorca, and one I would absolutely recommend to everyone wishing to have a pleasant and relaxing stay on the island.

Just returned from an 8-night stay here with my 14y old daughter and we both agree that it was one of the best Summer holidays ever. The hotel is just perfect and fully deserves every start it's got. The layout, ambient, pool, rooms, breakfast buffet and facilities are all excellent and everything feels very clean and secure. The staff are super friendly without exception and most guests appear to be return visitors (and we will be too now!). We had a 1-bedroom apartment with pool view (No.301). The room was spacious and the beds and even the sofa bed super comfortable. Aircon works well and is not noisy. Two TVs with plenty of channels. The kitchen has everything you'd need to cook if you wanted to. We just used the fridge, kettle and microwave though. Towels & bedding is great quality. Breakfast buffet is amazing. Great variety and all tastes fresh and delicious. There are even fresh churros and sparkling wine if you feel like it every morning! The coffee machine dispenses good coffee. For tea drinkers I'd suggest to bring your own bags (I always do when going on hols). The pool is spacious and safe for all levels of swimmers. There are sufficient sunbeds and parasols and no issue with people blocking beds all day. Pool towels are provided and the pool snack bar is also very good. The fries are delicious! The hotel has a big car park and is away from the main part of the town, so very quiet. The 10 minute stroll into town along the habour is very pleasant. We will definitely return.

This hotel is really well located within the resort. Walking distance to the local bars and restaurants. The rooms are lovely and the breakfast has something for everyone . It would be nice for the bar to be open in the evenings.
