VVery nice hostel in a good location near train station..Have an Onsen, microwave, hot water, a place to sit down and eat or working at your floor..not have a fridge.
I came too early, because of my train from Tokyo (around 1.30 pm) and i need to wait until 3 pm for check in. Beds ready, clean ready...but need to waiting the check in time..and it'fair isn't. The only problem was they start check in process 5-7 mins before 3 pm and they was very slowly and not professional...my time for check in it was 3.15 pm if not more...one of the last check in there. And this happened especialy because one disrespectful girl, she was determined to delay the proceedings—even more than others already had. Ugly and disrespectful attitude, make me lose time everytime..she had and fun about this when i explain her i not appreciateher jokes.
She, as well as all the others, either doesn't know how to speak English or doesn't want to... just simple words, like ”key.”
I expected more from one hotel (or hostel) in Japan.
I was disappointed with the choice of this hostel.
It is very difficult to find the hotel without help, as its name is written only in Japanese. The bed is very hard; it feels like sitting or sleeping on a wooden plank.

HuisikaodemaoI booked a non-smoking single room, and smoking was allowed in the downstairs parking lot. The environment was great for a solo stay. For breakfast, you might have to queue depending on the number of diners and the time, but the mapo tofu is truly excellent and a must-have in the morning. It's very close to Sendai Station, with plenty of dining options nearby and many convenience stores.

Anonymous UserExcellent location, just a stone's throw from Sendai Station. The room was quiet, and the bedding was comfortable. A soak in the upstairs hot springs before bed was perfect for unwinding. The buffet breakfast offered a wide variety of high-quality dishes. All the staff were polite and courteous. Highly recommend staying here.

Transportation: easiest with a 50-min taxi ride from Sendai airport unless int’l traveler wants to transfer via trains/buses. Nearest bus stop/little township is 遠刈田温泉 (13-min by foot to the Inn).
Key feature is open air onsens in forestry — this is why I chose to stay. Delightful breakfast and dinner (during dinner, there are all-inclusive drinks menu + additional charge ones). I enjoyed the 2nd night’s beef/daikon pot in particular. There are hearth side afternoon refreshment, happy hour beer, post-dinner snack that you will be kept fed warmly.
The aircon in Buna room would blow directly on the head so the fan blade should be adjusted.
Staff English speaking capability varies but they made every effort in solving problems. Little hiccup after checking out that the bus time table the Inn indicated was outdated, but I still managed to change my route in the fly, which is the beauty traveling in Japan.

Stayed one night in the main building. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with good amenities. Our package included both buffet breakfast and dinner, which was a nice touch. At check-in, guests are asked to select their preferred dining times. Since the restaurant can get quite busy, I recommend choosing the earliest slot for a more relaxed experience. The onsen facilities were decent and provided a chance to unwind. Overall, it was an enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Overall, it was pretty good, but the hotel facilities are a bit dated. The Japanese-style room was quite spacious, although there was a slight odor in the bathroom, but everything else was fine. The lounge offered complimentary snacks, drinks, and alcoholic beverages. The buffet dinner selection felt a bit limited, and items like crab legs needed to be pre-ordered (and weren't free). However, the buffet carts were a big hit with the kids. Also, the shuttle bus service from Sendai Station to the hotel needs to be booked in advance; I recommend emailing the hotel right after making your reservation. Another thing to note is that there are almost no taxis around Akiu Onsen, so we weren't able to visit the waterfall this time.

The room was large and spacious, and the bedding was comfortable. The hotel is not far from the JR station, within walking distance. The hotel offers a free shuttle service that can be booked in advance; the Naruko Onsen autumn foliage bus is right next to the JR station and seamlessly connects with the hotel's free bus. Meals are buffet style with a wide variety of options, and the onsen bath is unlimited.

Guest UserThis Dormy Inn is by far the best one we've stayed at in Japan! The room felt slightly larger than the standard Dormy Inn basic room types, and the highlight was definitely the multiple outdoor onsen baths available (usually there's just one). It was fantastic to try out all the different ones in rotation. The service was also excellent. The only downside is the location, which is a bit out of the way, situated between Sendai city center and Matsushima Coast (a 25-minute walk from JR Nakano-sakae Station, or a 5-minute taxi ride costing around 1000 JPY). Other than that, there are no flaws, and the Ctrip group purchase price was an absolute steal. Plus, the Kirin Beer Factory is right next door, so if you have time, you can book a tour.

The hotel is conveniently located at the heart of Matshushima Shoreline. It’s very close to the Fukuurabashi Bridge. All the major attractions in Matshushima Shoreline are within walking distance. Rooms are spacious and clean. Meals were good. You can order as many grilled ox tongue and shrimp tempura as you like in addition to what were already included in the dinner set. Staff are nice and helpful.
