Hot Springs Hotels in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan

The hotel is clean and tidy. It’s unfortunate that the weather is really bad on the day of my arrival. So I’m basically forced to stay at the hotel and enjoy the hot spring. It’s also really great that they provide free ice pop outside the hot spring and coffee downstairs.

The hotel is super close to Sendai Station, making transportation very convenient. It's also near Tohoku University, Sendai Asaichi (morning market), observation decks, and 7-Eleven. The hotel service is excellent; check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The rooms are well-equipped, clean, and tidy, with water and toiletries provided. When leaving, I noticed in the reception area that the hotel has won many awards. The breakfast buffet isn't huge, but the variety is decent, typically Japanese. They even have Sendai's famous Zunda Shake, so no need to go all the way to the station to buy one! Whether for leisure or business, it's a solid, comfortable stay without any real drawbacks. On the day before I left Japan, there was a tsunami and earthquake. I was in such a panic late at night that I ran down to the lobby in my room slippers to consult with the manager. I apologize for that; please forgive me. I later realized that the staff on duty in the lobby were incredibly polite, warm, and helpful in their replies, and they all remained very calm.

I am so glad I chose Komatsu-kan during my stay in Matsushima. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful. When I told him I am a vegetarian, he kindly informed the kitchen to exclude animal flesh and seafood from my meal. (Usually, hotels ignored my food request, or they just gave me tofu and pickles for my meal.) The next morning, I was so surprised to see my breakfast. I loved the fresh salad, steamed vegetables, over-easy eggs, chawan-mushi, and the pickles even tasted better than before. Then the room surprised me with the pine tree and the beautiful sea view. The next morning I woke up at 4:45 to see the sunrise. Just from my room, I could see the sun slowly rising from the other side of the sea. Stunning! I really enjoyed the little Me time here. Actually, this hotel is well-maintained, and that helps raise the value of it. I also love the fresh little flowers right next to the washing basin. And the people working here are quite ya-sa-shi. They are kind and gentle. Generally speaking, this is a nice place worth staying and relaxing in.

I really like this hotel. The details are very well done. It is very close to the airport and Meitianyuan subway station, and there is a Family Mart next to it. There is a welcome bar after check-in, and drinks such as water and juice are provided. The bath towel is more hygienic and comes with a clean plastic bag. There are even pillows of different heights to choose from. Various toiletries are provided. Although there are not many choices for breakfast, they are all delicious and of good quality. I feel that the water quality of the hot spring is better than the baths I took in Hokkaido. I can feel the flow of water. Although the pool is small, it is more comfortable than other hotels. Various reminders are well done, and the equipment is quite new. Anyway, I am quite satisfied. If I have the opportunity next time, I will choose again.

The hotel has a shuttle bus on weekdays and the service is thoughtful. You can go to Buqiubao Waterfall in 20 minutes by the hotel call car.

We came to Akiu mainly to see Lu Xun's former residence, but the hotel itself was also great. Although there wasn't much of a view outside the window, Akiu Great Falls is just a short drive away. The front desk gave me a room on the top floor. The food, especially, deserves a special mention. My boyfriend ate 6 plates of the freshly grilled beef tongue, but he was still outdone by the Japanese gentleman next to us – I counted, he had 7 plates! I won't post other pictures as I see everyone else has posted plenty; I'll just share one of the massage chair. You can enjoy the view while getting a massage. It's very quiet during the day, and you can use it as much as you like without needing coins, which is much more generous than many other hotels. The parking lot is also spacious, so there's no need to worry about not finding a spot if you return late.

Location was far from Train station - hence need a free shuttle bus from Sendai station to go in. Kind of challenging to book and confirm the shuttle arrangement but got it done after few clarifications. Hotel itself is near Akiu Sato centre which is good Hotel is big but quite old looking, room spacious , good onsen. very good dinner buffet with snow crabs daily. Buffet breakfast limited spread but OK Problem is other main attractions are far and need to take bus/taxi. The Akiu traditional craft village/park was a big disappointment with no visitors and only few shops opened. Not worth going at all

Absolutely perfect, fantastic value for money, and truly exceptional service. The lobby also offered complimentary free-flow beer, red, and white wine. This was hands down the most comfortable stay of our entire trip – I absolutely loved it! Its location is superb, just a five-minute drive from the main shopping street.

We enjoyed most is their big warm bath tops, clean and relaxing after whole day shopping and running around. Location is excellent and easy to reach everywhere near the train station or by buses as well. Front desk staff are nice and polite. Their English is good to communicate too. Will come back to stay without hesitation.
