I am a US traveler on business. I have visited Kashoen before and based on my experiences it is the only hotel I will ever stay at in Hanamaki. The hotel staff are the kindest, most caring, and passionate people I have met at a hotel. The amenities are fantastic, the hotel food is phenomenal, and my stay is always relaxing. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. There is a nice nature trail nearby with a river that is beautiful as well. If you are in Hanamaki or are looking for somewhere to enjoy a peaceful weekend at, I suggest Kashoen.

The hotel is located in Hanamaki Onsen Village, which is a group of three hotels. You can go to the hot springs in all three hotels, but I only went to the Momijikan, which has both outdoor and indoor hot springs. The area is not small and very comfortable. The room is also large, and the breakfast is rich in variety, with Japanese and Western food. There are also sukiyaki, local milk and ice cream. The hotel also has free folk performances in the lobby every night, which is very unique. If it is spring and summer, the rose garden near the hotel should also be beautiful. A very recommended hotel. The disadvantage is that the surrounding public transportation is not very convenient. You can only make an appointment to take the free shuttle bus from the hotel to Shin-Hanamaki Station. Although there are ordinary buses, there are very few buses.

Annual ski holiday, this time to choose the Ambi plateau. Because the price of the snow field hotel is more expensive, there is a hot spring nearby hotel to try. The hotel will arrange a free JR pick-up service, the staff is polite, and help, praise! The accommodation includes two meals, breakfast is the same every day - set plus a small amount of buffet form - food is provided. And dinner is shabu shabu, charcoal roasted cattle, and the same buried sushi roast is replaced in turn. Beef is Tian Zeniu, personally think that the meat quality is not 10 points excellent, but it is acceptable. There are hot springs in the hotel, there are two private styles, and the package is not wrong. The only place that is not ideal is far away. If you don't drive by yourself, you have to arrange a shuttle bus to the snow field by the hotel. The same buried daily breakfast time, dinner time, shuttle bus time needs to be prepared in advance, so you can freely and easily decide what time to eat and what time to go to the snow field and what time to return.

The service is outstanding since my first step into the hotel. The room is big like i can run around. Breakfast is great. Plenty of good food served as japanese set. Onsen is really comfortable. I went there in summer that there were not many tourists. So sometime, there was only me in the onsen. It was very quiet peaceful and relaxing A mark for those who books for dinner excluded bundle. There are rarely any restaurant around. There is one in front of the street corner (5mins walk) but the opening time and date could not be expected. You can find something to eat from Family mart (20 mins walk).

Great hot spring hotel. There is a shuttle bus from Morioka Station at 15:00, 500 yen per person, directly to the hotel. The hotel to Morioka Station is at 9:50 in the morning, and the journey takes 20 minutes. The hotel is very quiet, and Iwate Mountain is outside the window. The hot spring is great and worth experiencing. There are also folk performances in the evening.

The service staff is very kind and friendly. Although they don't understand English, they will try their best to use the translation machine. The overall facilities in the store are good, the rooms are well maintained, the hot spring hotel is very good, the room is also large, and the sleep is comfortable

The experience was superb! The onsen was good and relaxing. I love that they provide yogurt drink and ice lolly. There is also complimentary soba noodles at 9:30pm. What is more important is that they have free laundry and that the status of the machines can be viewed on TV!

We had a great experience with the ski trails and facilities—well-maintained and enjoyable. The hotel price is reasonable. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable but still acceptable. The ski-in/ski-out access is a major plus. The shuttle bus makes it easy to get to Lawson for any essentials. The hotel has a dedicated Yamato counter, which is very convenient for sending gear to and from the hotel. However, there are no restaurants outside the hotel, and the dining options inside are quite pricey.

An interesting secluded place, for those who do not have personal transport, it is necessary to take into account that from Ichinoseki station you can only get there by taxi. The rooms are large, separate bath. Suitable for a rest without fuss. Inside the hotel you need to walk without shoes.

YyamasukWe stayed here in mid-October to see the autumn leaves. We arrived at night, and the exterior lights were beautiful. Soon after entering the room, we were greeted by two stink bugs, causing quite a commotion. There was duct tape and instructions on how to get rid of stink bugs in the room... My husband reluctantly managed to get rid of them. There is one indoor and one outdoor hot spring. Men and women alternate in the morning and evening. Even though we had tags on our slippers, someone accidentally put them on, which was a bit annoying, but the hot spring was great. Since there are foreign guests, I think the tags should be written in different characters instead of hiragana. In the morning, the sun shining on the mountains, visible from the outdoor bath, was beautiful. There was a strong sulfur smell, and since we were relatively close to the hot spring, it lingered inside our room. If you don't like sulfur, you might want to request a room further away from the hot spring. The breakfast and dinner buffets were very extensive, and both my husband and I were very satisfied. Everything was especially delicious for dinner; I ate way too much. There's nothing nearby, but it's fairly close to Hachimantai, so if you have a car, it's a good location. The autumn leaves at Hachimantai, which I was looking forward to seeing, were at their peak around the middle of the mountain, and I was moved by how beautiful they were. It was so beautiful, yet not too crowded or deserted, which was great. Maybe it's a hidden gem? The area around the hotel seems to be at its best around late October. I'm sure there will be autumn leaves somewhere throughout October that you can enjoy. I wasn't able to participate, but it seems they also hold evening explanations about Hachimantai and stargazing events, which I highly recommend for anyone who wants to enjoy Hachimantai to the fullest. It would be even better if they could take better measures against stink bugs.

GGuest UserThe hotel nestled in the middle of Iwate and Akita Japan with an amazing sceneries of mountain. The accomodati on is super comfortable with an amazing view of trees and mountains covered in snow. The other highlight of this place is the culinary experience this place got to offer the course dinner and breakfast that uses locally sourced ingredients from both Akita and Iwate prefecture and the presentation of the cuisine that brings out the quality and the stories of the place. Overall an extraordinary experience and worth a trip of its own.

GGuest UserGreat location for hikers on the Michinoku Coastal Trail. We booked the stay with dinner and breakfast, and the dinner was an outstanding multi-course kaiseki style meal. The onsen is a great relief after a hard day of hiking too.

GGuest UserI loved my stay at this hotel! The staff were absolutely incredible, the room was very spacious with a western style room attached to an 8 tatami tea room, and floor to ceiling windows highlighting the snowy exterior. The onsen with indoor and outdoor pools were fantastic, and most people staying at the hotel wore yukata which gave the whole experience a tranquil vibe. The bus from Morioka goes directly to the hotel. It was a perfect traditional Japanese hotel.

DDominicThe best hotel in my 11 days trip in Japan North East! The food is the best amongst others hotel and also the service. The staff could hear my chop stick dropping on the floor and bring another one to me. Also, they helped me to clean the snow on my car before leaving! It’s a very good experience and highly recommend to visit there.

PPauline YenThe quality of the open-air bath here is quite good, we like it very much 💕 Although the hotel building feels old-fashioned, it is well maintained. The room we stayed in should have been built later and is a bit far away from the large bathing area. We can just enjoy the exhibitions of the hotel and artists. Paintings and beautiful scenery along the way 👍
