I am a US traveler on business. I have visited Kashoen before and based on my experiences it is the only hotel I will ever stay at in Hanamaki.
The hotel staff are the kindest, most caring, and passionate people I have met at a hotel. The amenities are fantastic, the hotel food is phenomenal, and my stay is always relaxing. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.
There is a nice nature trail nearby with a river that is beautiful as well.
If you are in Hanamaki or are looking for somewhere to enjoy a peaceful weekend at, I suggest Kashoen.
The price is affordable, and dinner includes all-you-can-eat snow crab and a variety of hot pot dishes, perfect for winter. Better than the dinner at Hoshino Aomoriya.
The three restaurants are connected, with performances in the evening, music at dinner, and shops across the street.
However, for a hotel with this number of rooms, the outdoor hot spring is a bit smaller than expected (it just so happens that the largest open-air pool at Hanamaki Hotel is closed in winter). In addition, there should be more flexible transfer services between the four hotels. The Red Leaf Pavilion is connected to Jiasong Garden, and you have to drag your luggage onto the bus yourself. The service's responsiveness needs to be strengthened. Please understand that we have come from afar and want to experience different hotel styles.
Annual ski holiday, this time to choose the Ambi plateau. Because the price of the snow field hotel is more expensive, there is a hot spring nearby hotel to try. The hotel will arrange a free JR pick-up service, the staff is polite, and help, praise!
The accommodation includes two meals, breakfast is the same every day - set plus a small amount of buffet form - food is provided. And dinner is shabu shabu, charcoal roasted cattle, and the same buried sushi roast is replaced in turn. Beef is Tian Zeniu, personally think that the meat quality is not 10 points excellent, but it is acceptable.
There are hot springs in the hotel, there are two private styles, and the package is not wrong. The only place that is not ideal is far away. If you don't drive by yourself, you have to arrange a shuttle bus to the snow field by the hotel.
The same buried daily breakfast time, dinner time, shuttle bus time needs to be prepared in advance, so you can freely and easily decide what time to eat and what time to go to the snow field and what time to return.
The service is outstanding since my first step into the hotel. The room is big like i can run around. Breakfast is great. Plenty of good food served as japanese set. Onsen is really comfortable. I went there in summer that there were not many tourists. So sometime, there was only me in the onsen. It was very quiet peaceful and relaxing
A mark for those who books for dinner excluded bundle. There are rarely any restaurant around. There is one in front of the street corner (5mins walk) but the opening time and date could not be expected. You can find something to eat from Family mart (20 mins walk).
Great hot spring hotel. There is a shuttle bus from Morioka Station at 15:00, 500 yen per person, directly to the hotel. The hotel to Morioka Station is at 9:50 in the morning, and the journey takes 20 minutes. The hotel is very quiet, and Iwate Mountain is outside the window. The hot spring is great and worth experiencing. There are also folk performances in the evening.
The service staff is very kind and friendly. Although they don't understand English, they will try their best to use the translation machine. The overall facilities in the store are good, the rooms are well maintained, the hot spring hotel is very good, the room is also large, and the sleep is comfortable
The experience was superb! The onsen was good and relaxing. I love that they provide yogurt drink and ice lolly. There is also complimentary soba noodles at 9:30pm. What is more important is that they have free laundry and that the status of the machines can be viewed on TV!
The location is good for the family ski holiday with all facilities available for this ski-in/ski-out hotel. The breakfast has a good variety while the dinner options are good especially the Teppanyaki restaurant with the local beef and abalone. The Japanese restaurant was also good with various dishes to choose from. The outdoor onsen at 白樺之湯 really worth the visit after the ski and I’d recommend to enjoy at day time. We have also tried the hotel massage services and it was really good and relaxing! The only thing for improvement is that the room themselves are a bit old and maybe should consider renovations in coming years. The shops have many food and drinks and souvenirs. We also got a big pack of fireworks that we can pay together with kids just outside the hotel on the snow slope.
Overall we enjoyed the stay and the slopes and ski school are magnificent!
An interesting secluded place, for those who do not have personal transport, it is necessary to take into account that from Ichinoseki station you can only get there by taxi. The rooms are large, separate bath. Suitable for a rest without fuss. Inside the hotel you need to walk without shoes.
GGuest UserI stayed here while visiting my hometown. I chose this hotel because I wanted to relax in a hot spring. The quality of the hot spring was excellent. The location from the open-air bath isn't the best, but it's not completely visible, so I think that actually helped me relax. It was summer, but the sounds of cicadas and cuckoos added to the resort atmosphere.
The room was spacious and clean. The amenities were more than enough. Soap and shampoo are provided at the hot spring, so you can easily enter empty-handed (just bring a towel). Towels are also provided in the room.
I booked a breakfast-included plan, so I was looking forward to it. It's a buffet, but the selection is so extensive that I was full before I could enjoy it all. The menu changes daily, so it was fun to stay multiple nights.
The lobby also offers free drinks and popsicles, which is a great service for families with children.
The only downside is the Wi-Fi. While there is free Wi-Fi on each floor, it's really poorly connected. And even when I thought I had it, it would disconnect immediately. The signal was poor, so I would notice it disconnecting before I knew it. This needs to be improved; Wi-Fi is available! Despite advertising it as such, it was practically nonexistent.
The voices of tourists were loud late at night. I think they were Chinese, but even though it was past midnight I could hear them doing something in the hallway and it made it difficult to sleep.
However, overall it was a good hotel, and although I was traveling alone this time, I would like to bring my family next time.

GGuest UserGreat location for hikers on the Michinoku Coastal Trail. We booked the stay with dinner and breakfast, and the dinner was an outstanding multi-course kaiseki style meal. The onsen is a great relief after a hard day of hiking too.
GGuest UserI loved my stay at this hotel! The staff were absolutely incredible, the room was very spacious with a western style room attached to an 8 tatami tea room, and floor to ceiling windows highlighting the snowy exterior. The onsen with indoor and outdoor pools were fantastic, and most people staying at the hotel wore yukata which gave the whole experience a tranquil vibe. The bus from Morioka goes directly to the hotel. It was a perfect traditional Japanese hotel.
PPauline YenThe quality of the open-air bath here is quite good, we like it very much 💕 Although the hotel building feels old-fashioned, it is well maintained. The room we stayed in should have been built later and is a bit far away from the large bathing area. We can just enjoy the exhibitions of the hotel and artists. Paintings and beautiful scenery along the way 👍
YYujibaohexiangA very satisfying experience. The hotel is very comfortable. I like the design style of the lobby very much. It is warm and grand. The hotel service is great. The room is spacious and bright. In winter, there is snow outside the window. The room is warm as spring. It is also very good to take a hot spring bath in the hotel. There is an outdoor hot spring pool. You can see the stars and snowflakes. The artistic conception is beautiful! The breakfast at the accommodation is very rich and tastes great. The side dishes are very delicate. The afternoon tea is great. There is a performance by an Italian music master during the lounge time from 4:30 to 6:00 in the afternoon. It is very pleasant. It is very close to the ski resort. I ski well every day and take a hot spring bath. It is comfortable~

DDominicThe best hotel in my 11 days trip in Japan North East! The food is the best amongst others hotel and also the service. The staff could hear my chop stick dropping on the floor and bring another one to me. Also, they helped me to clean the snow on my car before leaving! It’s a very good experience and highly recommend to visit there.
