Hostels in Southern Province, Sri Lanka

Excellent little spot by the beach, in our opinion this end of the beach was much nicer than the main Dikwella bay. Clean, calm and quiet - everything you could ask for. The hotel has private sun loungers which are always empty and available. The hotel food is great, the pizza is cheap and absolutely amazing. We tried surf lessons with an excellent surf school next door which was great fun. The rooms are basic, but comfortable and clean - totally fine. Hiriketiya is just 5 minutes down the road in a Tuk Tuk and to be honest this beachfront is much nicer than Hiriketiya which we found busy, touristy and dirty - but there are some great cafes, shops and restaurants to head over for in the evening or morning. Casa Smeralda staff were helpful and attentive - they always went above and beyond to be helpful and kind. Overall, I would highly recommend this stay to anyone who wants a peaceful, calm beach hotel to relax in! Side note: delivery apps did not work to this location but there are plenty of local restaurants to walk to.

The property is spacious. The beds are comfortable with natural linens. The kitchen is outstanding: a wide variety of utensils, a microwave, rice cooker, stovetops, and all necessary crockery. Free drinking water and tea are provided. There are also clothes drying racks. The hot water has excellent pressure.

We spent a night in this hotel and overall it was all right. However, we have a few things to defect: 2 of 3 beds in the room, had clearly visible points. The shower was very calcified. Otherwise the room was all right, the equipment is visible for a few years, but can keep with modern standards. The pool is large and clean, but there is only one bed. Due to the low cost of the hotel during our stay, we felt that the service was overambitious, which partly disturbed. In summary, this hotel is a good opportunity for a few nights. It has a good location and is additionally indoored.

I don't know what to say about this place. It's okay, but nothing special. You can't lock your room because they don't give you a key and lookers are broken It isn't far away from Hiriketiya beach and Dickwella beach

We stayed in both the shared room and then private room with outside shower. Both were very clean, the service was good and location quite convenient.

The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. It's really convenient having a cafe downstairs for meals and coffee. However, the lounge area on the second floor gets quite noisy at night with people chatting late, which made it hard to sleep. Also, the train station is pretty loud in the mornings, so I had to wake up early, haha.

You won't find another secluded, quiet place like this in Sri Lanka. Well done, guys!

Общая кухня — плюс, можно заварить чай и познакомиться с другими путешественниками. Шумно вечером — но это же хостел. Кровати удобные, душ горячий, Wi-Fi работает. Для бюджетного отдыха — идеально.
