We came across this while driving around Ikei island. It was a very neat little place. The grass was very tall with no real paths so it is a mosquito haven, but a great spot to hit on a day trip.
Many times in the past, I visited Ikei Island but, never spotted this site. Thanks to new signs posted, for tourists, this place was discovered by a friend and I out looking for "Off the beaten path" ...

It was the "Nakahara Ruins" where you can feel the romance of the Japanese archipelago. Recommended for history lovers. It means that there was also a "pit-house" in Okinawa, one of the symbols of the Jomon period by the mainland of Japan.
