Dushuhu Church

Dushu Lake Church got its name because it is located beside the beautiful Dushu Lake in Suzhou Industrial Park. The foundation of the church was laid in 2008, the first Easter service was held on April 4, 2010, and the dedication ceremony was held on May 28 of the same year. The main body of the church adopts the Gothic architectural style, with a total construction area of 5,619 square meters. The second floor of the main hall can accommodate thousands of people, and there are four small auditoriums on the first floor, each of which can accommodate more than 200 people. The stained glass of the church is quite distinctive, and the gorgeous pictures well interpret the cultural elements of Christianity. The bell tower is 51 meters high and houses 5 bronze bells of different sizes, which can play church music and signal the time in harmony. The water cross standing in Dushu Lake is a creation of the church. It is 6.6 meters high and 3.15 meters wide. The statue of Jesus in the center of the church square is made of bronze, 6 meters high and 3 tons in weight. It is placed on a 1.8-meter-high white marble base. The completion and opening of Dushu Lake Church has provided a high-grade activity place for the vast number of Chinese and foreign Christian believers in Suzhou, which has increased the cultural connotation of the park, and also provided necessary facilities for the standardization of religious activities.
