After Hokai-ji Temple, I continued to walk westward to find the site of Shinmei Shrine, where #3 deity was enshrined before the 1868 Gods and Buddhas Separation Order. In the 9th century, where Osaka...
I felt like I was in a small shrine, close to the locals.

I visited because I passed by when I was walking from Osaka Station toward Umeshin Kaido. It felt like I was closely related to the local area at a small shrine.
It is a small shrine near Kitashinchi. I don't know the history of this shrine, but since it is in such a city center, it seems to have existed for a long time.
This place is the site of Nanba Shinmeisha. Currently, it is the last shrine in the precincts of the open-air god. It is said that it was a historic shrine built in the early Heian period. It was called the Shinmei of the setting sun because it was built westward. If you are interested, why not visit the end shrine of the open-air god?
There is a big stone monument beyond the torii gate.

There is a wooden torii gate in a corner where hotels and restaurants in Sonezaki are lined up, and a large stone monument at the site of Shinmeisha is built inside. The shrine is not in this place, but is enshrined in the nearby Ohatsutenjin. Originally, it seems that there was an independent shrine in this place, but it is said that the shrine was lost due to natural disasters and fires.
