Dujiangyan Scenic Area The Dujiangyan Scenic Area, located on the main stream of the Min River to the west of Dujiangyan City, was constructed by Li Bing, the governor of Shu Prefecture of the Qin State, and his son around 256 BC. It is the most intact ancient water conservancy project in China today. The project consists of the Fish Mouth Levee, the Feisha Weir overflow channel, and the Baopingkou water inlet, along with subsidiary projects such as the Baizhang Dyke and the Renzi Dyke. It divides the turbulent Min River into an outer river for flood discharge and an inner river for irrigation, turning the western Sichuan plain into the 'Land of Abundance'. 3. Wuhou Shrine The Wuhou Shrine in Chengdu is a temple dedicated to the heroes of the Shu Han, such as Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang. It was founded in the first year of the Zhaolie Emperor of Shu Han (221 AD) when the Hui Ling Mausoleum of Liu Bei was built, and the Han Zhaolie Temple was constructed at the same time.
