Xinghua Hutong

Xinghua Hutong is located on the west side of Shichahai in Beijing, with Longtoujiing Street on the east and Denei Street on the west. It was formed in the Ming Dynasty and is an older street in the Shichahai area. The total length of the hutong is about 600 meters. An alley leading to Dingfu Street divides it in two. The west side of the street is full of ancient locust trees, which are lush and lush, adding infinite charm to the hutong; the east side is Yishui'er. The gray tube tile house, the exquisite brick flowers and the quaint shadow wall embody the taste of old Beijing. No. 13 Xinghua Hutong is a typical old Beijing courtyard. Chen Yuan, a well-known Chinese historian, educator and president of Fu Jen Catholic University, lived here for 33 years. On the west side of the alley is the former residence of Hesheli Soni, an important official of the Qing Dynasty.
