Gaoligong Mountain National Nature Reserve is located on the west bank of the Nujiang River and is an important part of the Three Parallel Rivers World Natural Heritage. Gaoli is the transliteration of a family name of the Jingpo people. "Gong" means "mountain" in Jingpo dialect, and Gaoligong means "the mountain of the Gaoli family". From north to south, Gaoligong Mountain spans the three counties of Gongshan, Fugong and Lushui in Nujiang Prefecture, as well as the two counties of Baoshan Tengchong County and Baoshan Longyang District. Gaoligong Mountain National Nature Reserve gathers a variety of rare wild animals and plants. It is the hometown of eight famous flowers in Yunnan. A large tree Rhododendron in the area has the reputation of "The King of Rhododendron in the World". The scenery of blooming flowers is shocking; in addition, Gaoligong Mountain, which is covered with waterfalls, flowing springs, snow-capped mountains and lakes, is also the distribution area of volcanic hot seas. The beautiful scenery makes it a paradise for photographers and hikers.
