Falling Star pier of Xingzi,Jiujiang-China
This is one among many amazing historical sites in Jiujiang. Located in Poyang Lake, Lushan, Jiujiang, Jiangxi, China. In Apple or Google Map you can search for Luoxing Mound, takes about one hour to arrive from Jiujiang city using a Taxi or Didi. This ancient site has survived for thousands of years and it’s unique because only in a small period of time in a year you can see it as whole picture the rest of the time it’s hidden under water. Other time the whole place is covered by poyang lake and it requires you to use a boat to reach the historic site. It’s such an existing experience to be able to learn different cultures. In the Sichuan capital of Chengdu, there is an endless list of things to do, see, eat/drink. I visited the Jinsha site museum, which is an archaeological site housing many ancient relics from the Shu kingdom from about 3,000 years ago. We also strolled Kuanzhai Alley, which contains many shops and food stalls amongst old-style houses and streets from the Qing dynasty. Outside the city, there are also famous historic areas like Dujiangyan, an ancient irrigation system. I ran out of time to do a panda tour or explore the famous tea houses, so make sure to schedule enough days to see all that Chengdu has to offer. #chinatravel #chengdutravel #jinsha #kuanzhaialley

Megacity in the Mountains
Chongqing is a densely populated megacity in China that briefly served as a wartime capital in WWII. The city is built into the mountains, which means sometimes traveling around can be an adventure - this is where you may think you’re on the ground level on one street, take a turn, and be on the 24th floor relative to another street (gps can help but not really)! Be prepared to climb lots and lots of stairs as they seem to be everywhere. Make sure to soak in the nightscape - visitors come here from all over to see the city with all its bridges and futuristic buildings (e.g. Raffles Place) lit up at night. And of course, Chongqing hotpot and all the spicy dishes are a must try. The city received lots of investment from Hong Kong and Singapore, so parts of Chongqing may remind people of HK or SG. This is one city that never sleeps and can keep you entertained and amused for your entire stay. #chinatravel #chongqingtravel #chinesefood

East Meets West
Shanghai is where ancient meets modern and East meets West in China. In northwest Jiading, there are old temples and ancient walls from thousands of years ago. Down by city centre, the Bund offers French and British colonial style architecture one one side and views of futuristic skyscrapers one the other. The city offers museums and parks/gardens galore and of course, food from all over the world. Shanghai is massive (population over 29 million) and I can spend over four hours traveling from one end to another, but thankfully there is an expansive public transit system. Try to visit a few different neighborhoods (e.g. Huangpu, Xuhui, Pudong, Jiading, Songjiang, Fengxian) as they all have very different attractions to offer. #chinatravel #shanghaitravel #jiadingtown #shanghaibund #chinesefood

Breathtaking Yellow Mountains
They say the Yellow Mountains (Huangshan) are some of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world, and I must agree. I took a train from Beijing and stayed a night in the town at the base of the mountains to prepare for the hike up the next morning. Although there are lifts to carry you up part way, I chose to hike on foot, which took about 3 hours. I stayed at a hotel for a night at the top to view the sunrise, and the unforgettable, breathtaking views were worth it in spite of the sore muscles and lack of sleep. #chinatravel #anhui #huangshan

Karst Mountains in Yangshuo
We took a cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, absorbing the beautiful views of the karst mountains from the water. Then we stayed at an inn outside of the old town so we could spend some quiet time relaxing and exploring the countryside. There were hiking trails through small villages, along fruit orchards. I also hiked to a little 500-year-old bridge and up some mountains for the gorgeous views. Street vendors are available all over to provide snacks and refreshments. #chinatravel #yangshuo #guilin #karstscenery

Magnificent Guanyin Goddess of Nanshan! 🇨🇳
The enormous statue of Guanyin Goddess of Nanshan is one of the tallest in the world located in Sanya, Hainan Province. It is a famous attraction in China that you must visit especially if you beleive in Buddhism. The thousands of mini golden statues inisde the temple are one of a kind. Cameras aren't allowed once you enter the temple so I couldn't show you how emmaculate the statues are inside. Very clean and well maintained. One of the best temple that we have entered in Asia and we have been around. So it is worth the money. The temple is surrounded with a massive and beautiful park so you can easily spend your entire day here. Ticket price: Main entrance ticket costs 108 but in order for you to enter the other temple then you have to pay extra. The main Guanyin Statue temple charges 25rmb per person.. So better yet prepare 150-180 in case you wanna see every temple inside that require extra payments . ‼️Tip: 1. Rent an ebike so you can just drive from your hotel. Even though I generally do not like travelling with groups - your companies - Tibet was the exception I had to accept if I wanted to go. As foreigners we have to go we need a special permit that tours will help you obtain. These are pictures of many different places during my 9 day tour in Tibet. All tour companies provide more all less the same Itinerary to groups of foreigners with the highlight being Everest base camp. My general itinerary - Xining to Lhasa by train for slow gain in altitude - Lhasa - Shigatse - Gyantse - Everest Base Camp - Shigatse - Lhasa. - with famous places visits like the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Yamdrock lake etc. Be ready to spend most your time in a coach to move from place to place. Scenic Monastry: Paoma Mt. Park Kangding 🇨🇳
On your first day in Kangding, I can actually highly suggest that you acclimitize first then hike up to Paoma Mt. Park. This mountain is known as the famous love song mountain in Kangding. It is really nice up there as it will give you a panoramic view of Kangding. A great activity for just a couple of hours just within the city. You don't need to go far to see a scenic view of Kangding. There are two options on how to get to the top of the mountain. First, you can hike up if you like hiking. Second is take the cable car. If you take thr cable car then it will cost you 50rmb per person. Once you reach the top, you will then again have to pay 50 rmb as your entrance fee so you can roam around the area. There is also a monastry up there where you can enter freely. Enjoy your Kangding Trip. PS. Walking around Kangding, Sichuan
Kangding is a county level city that is 8,400 feet ( 2560 m) above sea level. It is located at the seat of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuna, China. It is the home of Han Chinese, Tibetans and other minorities. Getting There - From Chengdu you can either take a bus or by plane. Buses to Kangding leave from Xinnamen Bus Station. The journey takes you about 5-8 hours deoending on traffic. If you are going during holiday than it is carzy traffic. It took us 14 hours. That's how busy the roads are to Kangding. There are many attractions in the city and outside the city that requires 2-3 or even 5 hours drive. I have posted attractions in Kangding so please feel free to check them out. Food & Restaurants - Food here is amazing. Tibetan and Chinese food are around and even some western food but not a lot of options. Shopping - If you are staying by the river then you are basically in the shopping street. ‼️Tip 1. Oxygen bottle- if you suffer from altitude sickness then you might be needing an oxygen bottle. There are oxygen bottles around so just grab if you feel dizzines, shortness of breath or headache. If you are under the weather when you visit Kangding then expect to experience discomfort. Find Magic in Zhangjiajie
Zhangjiajie is a wild, tiresome, and magical experience. Now, ever more famous from its role in the Avatar movies, the mountain views are quite unlike anything else in the world. Taking a trip there is definitely recommended, but be prepared to be tired, to get lost, to be swept up in the crowds of others that you become entangled with at times, and to be prepared to really have an enjoyable experience. There are so many different routes and trails to take. The cable car up is wonderful and provides some of the best sights you'll ever see, as you're slowly taken up amongst mountains, close enough to reach out and touch them. The area has a section for Bunjee Jumping, a walkway that goes along the mountain side, a lift to take you up to see the sights around you, a glass bridge and even a zip line across. There's a lot to enjoy, and it could definitely be experienced over a couple of days. Personally, I felt 1, long day, was more than enough, and provided the experience that would be remembered and to be really taken in.#china #chinatravel #zhangjiajie #avatarmountains

Visiting Water Street in Yancheng with my family
During my recent visit to Yancheng, I had the opportunity to explore Water Street, a charming cultural and scenic spot nestled next to the Chuanchang River. As I walked along the street, which stretches between Dongjin Road and Century Avenue, I was struck by the rich history and culture of the Haiyan people. One of the highlights of my visit was the cultural area on Water Street and also how friendly locals were. As I strolled along the street, I also admired the picturesque scenery, with its quaint houses and bridges reflecting in the tranquil river. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, and I found myself immersed in the beauty of the surroundings. Overall, my visit to Water Street was a memorable experience that allowed me to appreciate the rich culture and history of Yancheng. Three days in Yangcheng
My family and I recently visited Yancheng for the May holidays, and we were immediately struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the city. The residents were extremely friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We stayed at the Atour hotel, which was conveniently located near the railway station. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed to make our stay comfortable. We appreciated the helpful staff who went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant experience. Traveling with young children can be challenging, but we managed to visit a couple of attractions during our stay. Our first stop was Water Street in Yancheng, which was a delightful cultural and scenic spot. We enjoyed learning about the history and traditions of the Haiyan people. Our next destination was the Dayangwanshengtvyou scenic area, which was a beautiful natural park with stunning views of the mountains. We hiked along the trails, admiring the scenery and taking plenty of photos. Our children enjoyed playing in the sand and camping out for day, and we all had a great time. Although we only had a few days in Yancheng, we felt like there was so much more to explore and discover. We definitely plan to come back and explore more of the city and its surroundings. Overall, our trip was a wonderful family adventure that we will always remember. #chinatravel #explorechina #jiangsuprovince

Small Paradise: Lijiang Oldtown
Lijiang is a city in the Yunnan mountains. It's quite popular, but didn't loose its charme. I went during off season, it wasn't crowded at all. 🎟️ You don't need a ticket. The old town in Lijiang is for free now. ✈️ The Lijiang airport is not too far from the old town. Busses 🚌 go there for 20RMB. You can also come by train from Dali or Kunming. You can spend one or two days in the old town and won't get bored, don't worry. Lion Mountain is a mountain in the Pengzhou part of Chengdu in Sichuan. There is a 5 to 13km Outdoor Hiking trail throughout the area! You can choose which route you wanna walk. 📍Lion Mountain, Pengzhou, Chengdu Best way to go is by car or taxi, parking is available at several small spots. No public transport. The White Deer Ancient Academy
Rich in history, beautiful architecture, peaceful nature area and so much more! I wasn't planning to go here till I found out it was near my guesthouse and I am glad I went ! there is so much information (in English) about this ancient academy, all the traditions, explanation about the rooms, and the stone craving poems.
