Asakusa: A Must-See Area of Tokyo
I visited the Sensō-ji Temple, an ancient Buddhist temple. It is Tokyo's oldest temple (founded in 645 CE) and has a titanium-tiled roof. Though the temple was associated with the Tendai sect of Buddhism, it became independent after the Second World War. The temple is dedicated to Guanyin, the bodhisattva (a person on the path towards Buddhahood) of compassion. At the beginning of the Tokugawa shogunate, Tokugawa Ieyasu designated Sensō-ji as the protector of the Tokugawa clan. During World War II, the temple was bombed and destroyed during the March 10th air raid (a devastating and catastrophic firebomb air raid) on Tokyo. The temple was reconstructed and served as a symbol of rebirth and peace to the Japanese people. In the courtyard, a tree was hit by a bomb in the air raids; however, it has regrowned in the husk of the old tree and is a similar symbol to the temple itself. Adjacent to the temple, I saw the five-story pagoda, the Asakusa Shinto shrine, and shops with traditional Japanese goods. I liked Asakusa a lot because it had traditional buildings, fascinating historical sites, excellent street food, and no shortage of things to see. #falltrip #historicallandmarks #familytrip #architecture #tokyotrip #historicculture

We spent the day discovering the 280 acre gardens of the Imperial Palace. The Kyoto Imperial Palace, known as the "Kyoto Gosho," stands as a symbol of Japan's rich imperial history. While primarily a historical site today, it holds great cultural significance. Japan maintains its imperial family with Emperor Naruhito reigning. However, the Imperial family primarily resides in the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. Kyoto's palace is used for ceremonial events, but not as a residence. The city of Kyoto continues to honor its imperial legacy, with the palace and its splendid gardens open to the public, allowing visitors to step back in time and appreciate the architectural and cultural heritage of Japan's past.

A fascinating glimpse at the origins of LA
El Pueblo de Los Angeles historical monument is the oldest part of the city of Los Angeles and was it’s heart during Mexican, Spanish and early American rule. Directly opposite Union Station in downtown the area is a state monument and designated historic place. The area is made up of large plazas surrounded by buildings dating back to 1800, there are small streets radiating off them selling all kinds of food, gifts and clothes. There are beautiful flowers, trees and cactai lining the streets and it makes you feel like you’re a whole world away from the bustle of a modern American city.
It’s a great place to take your time and explore the details of these buildings, they are well preserved and many have pieces of art or murals that give fascinating details of the areas history.
It is one of my favourite places for food in Los Angeles with the ability to mix snacks from street vendors with flavorful meals from the many cafes and restaurants on the streets.
If you come you have to try the churros and snowcones, the best I’ve had by far!

Revisiting My Favorite City
Out of all cities that I have lived in, London has a special place in my heart In addition to being a world renown cosmopolitan city with theaters, museums and shops, it offers dozens of (mostly free) idyllic experiences. A stroll around Hyde Park and Kensington Palace or South Bank is enough to breath in the living history within the walls of this iconic city. If you are on your way to another destination with the UK, I would highly recommend even a one-day stopover…

If you want an experience that includes Chinese history, culture, art, and food, this is the place! Zhouzhuang isn't far from the heart of Suzhou, and every part of this water township is delightful. The bridges, canals, and alleyways look like they fell out of paintings. The markets are extensive, with food and art and embroidery that dazzles the senses. On my trip to Suzhou, this was definitely my favorite place to visit, and I'm so glad that I went! #suzhou #zhouzhuang #watertown #solotravel #summervacation #historicculture
DMZ, trapped between north & south 🇰🇷🇰🇵
The demilitarized zone is a must see if you’re doing a few days in Seoul, it’s a fascinating glimpse at the line that separates two nations still at war. The war ended in in 1953 with an armistice, so the nations are still technically at war.
The guided tours are amazing given the fact you are approaching such a sensitive area, they give you access to some fascinating sites while still keeping you safe and informed. On the tours you can visit various monuments and memorials to the fallen, the separated and the disappeared - each with their own fascinating stories. You can see the various bridges in their different states of repair that once linked the two nations.
You visit the observatory which enables you to look at North Korea through binoculars and see the difference in their buildings, farming and transport. On a clear day you can see as far as North Korea’s third biggest city. You can also see people on the other side of their border going about their day, walking around or farming and you can see how basic their equipment and provisions are.
Finally you enter the tunnels that North Korea built after the armistice to try and prepare for an invasion of Seoul, the tunnels were found and stopped by the South but still a fascinating piece of the story. You go deep underground and see the dynamite holes left from construction and the coal dust the North Koreans used to try and disguise their true intent.
Overall a fascinating experience and it’s worth the price, and being a 40 minute drive out of Seoul this 3/4 hour trip is doable in a half day if well planned!

BIGGEST historical theme park in Korea!
#korea #culturalattractions #historicculture #themepark
Baekje Cultural Land is a Korean historical theme park in Buyeo, South Korea, where you can learn about the history and culture of Baekje Kingdom. Baekjae doesn’t have anything left, so this is the only preservation of its history and culture. It is the biggest historical theme park in Korea.
This theme park is quite big. It will take you about 3 hours to explore everything at a moderate pace. There are lots to see, including traditional houses and buildings, trees and plants and cultural events, like taekwondo performances. The scenery is very nice, which is why many Korean dramas are filmed here. So be sure to take some photos! The admission ticket is quite cheap, less than 5 USD. It closes on Mondays and is usually open until 5pm.
