On May 15, 1925, in protest at the Japanese business yarn factory capitalists tearing up the agreement reached with Chinese workers, Gu Zhenghong led the workers into the factory to negotiate with them, was threatened by Japanese merchants with guns, and was unconscious after being shot by executioners and slashed his head with a knife.
