Sagano, Kyoto, is located in the north of Arashiyama, at the foot of the beautiful Kokura Mountain, and was once the seat of the royal family's villa. The path surrounded by bamboo forests and small fences is very elegant and charming. On the path from Nogiya Shrine to Huaye Nianfo Temple, there are Changjingguang Temple, Luo Shishe, Dajue Temple, Erzunyuan, etc., and the atmosphere is quiet and elegant. There are more than 10,000 stone Buddha statues with unknown authors in Huaye Nianfo Temple. Changjingguang Temple is located in the middle of Kokura Mountain, with the atmosphere of "Changjingguang Land", the ideal place of Buddhism, hence the name. The 12-meter-high Duobao Pagoda in the temple is an important cultural property, and from here, you can see Sagano and Higashiyama in the distance. In autumn, the mountains are full of red leaves, especially the scattered red leaves are famous. Daikaku-ji Temple was rebuilt from the palace of Emperor Saga in 876 AD. It was once the abbot of the Dharma princes in the past dynasties, and it is also known as the Saga Imperial Palace. The Osawa Pond on the east side of the territory is one of the oldest garden ponds in Japan, blending the style of ancient Chinese garden architecture. This is a good place to watch the moon, and the Saga chrysanthemums that bloom every autumn have a history of 300 years.
