Located beside Hakata Bay, the Hakata Port Tower is a 103 meter tall observation tower built in 1964. An observation deck located 70 meters above ground provides visitors with a 360 degree panoramic view of the harbor and its bustling activity. The nearby Hakata Port Bayside Museum has a number of displays and exhibits about the role and history of Hakata Bay.
