Little Blessings by the Shrine's Pond on a Sunny Day: Multiple Shrines in One | 1,000-Year-Old Couple Trees |.
Fukuoka Kushida Shrine | Multiple Shrines in One | 1,000-Year-Old Couple Trees | A Must-Visit for Love | Personally Visited by a Hong Kong Girl
When you come to Fukuoka for shrine visits, Kushida Shrine is an absolute must! Not only is it the oldest shrine in Hakata, but it’s also an incredible "shrine within a shrine" — there are actually multiple small shrines hidden inside, each answering different prayers. It’s a one-stop spot for all your wishes! Plus, there are the super-effective 1,000-year-old couple trees. If you're praying for love or a happy marriage, you’ve got to check this out!
✨ Multiple Branch Shrines Inside | I Prayed at Each One | Full Breakdown of Prayers
1. Main Shrine (Kushida Okami): Primarily for a smooth Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival, good health, and overall peace. It's the main deity most frequently worshipped by Hakata locals.
2. Sugawara Okami Branch Shrine: Just like Dazaifu, this one is for passing exams, academic success, and career promotion. A must-visit for students and office workers.
3. Daikokuten Branch Shrine: Fukuoka's god of wealth, perfect for attracting regular and unexpected wealth, as well as a prosperous business. Sisters who want to get rich, make a dash for this one!
4. Atago Okami Branch Shrine: Focuses on safe travels, smooth long-distance relationships, and warding off toxic people. Those who travel often or are in long-distance relationships must pay a visit.
5. Suijin (Water God) Branch Shrine: Ideal for health, better skin, and clearing your mind of worries. Beauty-loving girls definitely need to pray here!
💞 Highlight Spot: 1,000-Year-Old Couple Trees | Connected Trees for Happiness
In the shrine's backyard, there are two 1,000-year-old camphor trees that have been growing for over a millennium. Their trunks are tightly intertwined in the middle, known as the "Renri Camphor." Symbolizing "couples of one mind, enduring love, and growing old together," it's a super famous sacred spot for love in Fukuoka!
My bestie and I personally tried it, following the shrine's guidelines: touch the connected trees with both hands, close your eyes, and make a wish. Whether you want to stabilize your relationship, meet your perfect match, or ensure a harmonious marriage, this is the place to pray! The trees are incredibly old and full of spiritual energy. After praying, I felt like my luck in love was flowing much smoother.
The details of the whole shrine are absolutely stunning—vermilion torii gates, Japanese stone lanterns, and ancient trees offering plenty of shade make for a super atmospheric photo spot. After hitting all the branch shrines and touching the couple trees, all your wishes are covered in one go. No need to hop between different shrines. Lazy girls and those tight on time definitely have to come!
