The weather in LA recently has been really bad. — traveler post in Glendale

The weather in LA recently has been really bad.

LA slipped into summer without any warning, right? Kids, it's time to pull out your short sleeves, shorts, and skirts. Take advantage of the gentle breeze and perfect temperature. Here's a text version of a local's full day itinerary on the west side of LA—go check in and take photos! — 🕗 8:00 AM Griffith Observatory 📌Griffith Obervatory I really recommend going in the morning. Fewer people make it less awkward to take photos, and parking is free. You might even run into a veteran Hollywood photographer and pick up some tips. 🕚 11:00 Home State 12 ^ Brunch 📌4624 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027 This place has been my favorite for the seven years I've been in LA. Mexican Fushion, delicious and affordable. Seven years ago, there were only two locations. Now they're all over the west side of LA. You must try the Loaded Queso! 🕐 1:00 PM Shopping spree in Glendale 📌100 W Broadway Suite 100, Glendale, CA 91210 It gets a bit hot at noon, and photos don't look as good. Why not stroll around an American mall? There are fountains and lawns, grab an ice cream, watch a movie. 🕒 5:00 PM Check-in at the Gate of Angels 📌Ascot Hills Park For those who haven't had enough of the Downtown views, make sure to check in at this Gate of Angels trail during sunset. The trail is a bit steep but short and easy to climb. Don't miss out on it if you've made it all the way to DTLA.

More than just a shopping mall, Glendale’s The Americana is like Europe, but in America. — traveler post in Glendale

More than just a shopping mall, Glendale’s The Americana is like Europe, but in America.

#USATravel #Glendale #CaliforniaTravel The Americana, located in the heart of downtown Glendale, is a popular outdoor shopping and entertainment center. It is said to be designed similar to a classic American city square with a mix of modern and traditional architecture. In reality, it is a place where American and European feelings coexist strangely! The Americana has over 75 stores, including high-end fashion brands, restaurants🍽️ entertainment. You can enjoy live music and performances on the center's outdoor stage, or watch a dancing fountain show where water and lights dance to music⛲️ There is also a trolley car that passes through the building, so it's like an amusement park. It is a popular place for both locals and tourists, and many people actually spend a leisurely day in the outdoor garden🥰 It is a popular spot that often appears as a background in movies and TV shows! If you have some free time during your trip to California, Spend a leisurely day shopping and eating here~ 📍The Americana at Brand | 889 Americana Way, Glendale

Universal Studios Hollywood

The overall experience at Universal Studios Hollywood was absolutely fantastic! You could say there were practically no lines. Even the big rides only took about ten minutes (this is essential; otherwise, you'd get overwhelmed and dizzy from all the rush). They're also having the world premiere of Fast & Furious. However, being an older theme park, many details do look a bit dated (especially the Harry Potter area). Universal Studios is truly amazing! It's unique and allows you to experience the film sets up close.

Warner Bros. Studios Tour Hollywood

The place is really worth visiting so much nostalgia comes flooding back. There is a great bus tour of the outside where you see all of the sets that they use and which shows they are filming using them. There is a Jurassic park tunnel which is quite thrilling when you go through it and also the friends and big bangs sets which you can take pictures. Just one thing for the solo travelers, I needed a friend as they helped me take a picture by blasting the light in my face to take the picture with my phone , it didn't come out good. I needed the side angle which the professional uses but unfortunately I was traveling solo. It was a great experience and I loved it!

Griffith Park

A very suitable place to enjoy the night view of Los Angeles, you can overlook the night view of the entire Los Angeles, but it is often crowded here, so you have to squeeze out a spot by yourself~ It was a bit foggy when we came, and the weather was not very good, but you can still enjoy a good night view. It is said that this is the filming location of the movie Lalaland. Friends who are interested can come to make a pilgrimage!

Hollywood Walk of Fame

Real "filter" test: Besieged by commercial noise: The streets are filled with cheap souvenir shops, high-decibel music, and artists selling CDs, and the environment is noisy and chaotic. The romantic imagination of "starlight" is easily shattered by reality. Expectation management is crucial: don't expect to meet a star (the probability is very small) or bump into a movie shoot. The Avenue of Stars is essentially a memorial landmark, not a theme park. Trap area tips: Be careful of high-priced and low-cost attractions such as wax museums and horror houses; be wary of those who actively approach and provide "services". Is it worth going? The key lies in the purpose: Hardcore movie fans/film history enthusiasts: must go! *The feeling of touching the idol's mark with your own hands and being in the Oscar Hall is irreplaceable. Tourists who check in Los Angeles for the first time: You can go, but strictly control the time and expectations. Focus on the ritual of "star hunting" (reserve 1 hour), visit the exterior of the Chinese Theater, and look at the mountain landmark from a distance, and regard it as a cultural symbol check-in point. *Those who seek in-depth cultural experience/hate crowded and noisy: choose carefully or avoid it. The noise may be far beyond

Hollywood

Controversy and the reality of the "magic mirror": Over-commercialization and clutter: Parts of Hollywood Boulevard are filled with cheap souvenir shops, piercing music, "characters" wearing exaggerated costumes who charge for taking photos (the quality varies and they may force tips), and street performers. The environment is noisy and chaotic, and the "starlight" filter is easily broken. Large gap in expectations: There is no red carpet, it is difficult to meet stars (the probability is extremely low), and the so-called "movie shooting site" is not visible on the streets, which is easy to be disappointed. Cost-effective trap: Wax museums, horror houses and other attractions have high ticket prices and serious homogeneity of content, so you need to choose carefully. Is it worth going? Rational decision: * Fanatic movie fans & film history enthusiasts: Must go! The emotional satisfaction brought by the landmark, theater, and studio tour is irreplaceable. First-time visitors to Los Angeles: You can go, but lower your expectations. Focus on the core landmarks (mountain landmarks, Chinese Theater, and a section of the Avenue of Stars), arrange 1-2 hours, and regard it as a "cultural symbol" experience. Those who seek deep culture/tranquility experience: choose carefully or avoid it.

NBA Los Angeles Lakers Home Game

Lakers is the favorite team of most fans. From the Kobe era to the current James-led basketball empire, there is one less game to watch. The live viewing experience is definitely worth the fans to find out.

Crypto.com Arena

Managed to catch some big superstar for Lakers outside the arena. Pretty upset as NBA regular season is ended when I visited in June and no playoff games at the time hence I wasn’t able to watch the game in the arena but I’m sure I will be back some day again to watch a NBA game.

Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County

The dinosaur and mammal exhibits were truly impressive. Although it's a county-level museum, it was built in the 1920s and has a rich history. It allowed us to learn about nature and also to see how Americans treated nature at that time.

Exposition Park

We took our kids there, 3 and 5. Went to the science museum, natural history museum, butterfly exhibit, and then let the kids play in the shade of the rose garden. They were only interested in the shuttle itself for about two minutes, but there were other things to see. They loved the dinosaurs and butterflies. They were entertained for over three hours, which was good. Need to buy tickets in advance. Many things have separate admission fees. I only noticed that parking was $12. Excellent museum, but in the transportation center of the city, so adjust your schedule accordingly.
