Australia 7 days 6 nights lazy travel guide|all in one

Been to Australia many times Summarized lazy tips for Sydney + Melbourne Newbies can just copy this 🐨 💛💛💛Basic guide 🚕Uber app 🚌Use Opal card in Sydney, Myki card in Melbourne, free trams in the city center 📱China Unicom Australia-New Zealand SIM card. I bought it from the official China Unicom overseas flagship store on JD.com. Just insert the card upon arrival and use it right away. I chose 10 days with 12GB high-speed data + 40 minutes of calls + 10 SMS. The whole store offers 20% off for 1 item and 30% off for 2 or more items 📶The network is very stable and fast, no problem uploading videos. Google Maps and overseas booking apps run smoothly, which solved my biggest problem for self-guided trips. (❌Before, I used international roaming for convenience but many foreign apps wouldn’t open, and navigation didn’t work) The key is the plan includes call minutes, so I can make and receive local calls in Australia and New Zealand. I can book restaurants and shows in advance, which is much more reliable than just using data for internet calls . D1 Sydney city 📍Hyde Park → St Mary’s Cathedral → Royal Botanic Garden (Mrs Macquarie’s Chair viewpoint) → Sydney Opera House → Circular Quay → The Rocks 🌟The city center is small enough to finish in one day. Watch the city sunset from a rooftop in The Rocks in the evening . D2 Sydney beach 📍Bondi Beach (Icebergs pool) → Sydney Fish Market → Darling Harbour 🌟Love this beach so much. The pool blends perfectly with the ocean, very relaxing . D3 Sydney culture off the beaten path 📍Art Gallery of New South Wales — whale watching (2.5h) — University of Sydney — Sottis on Crown seafood buffet dinner at Crown Hotel 🌟This gallery has original works by Monet, Van Gogh, and other masters. Took a boat and saw whales 🐳 super lucky. The buffet is amazing! Eat as much Australian lobster as you want . D4 Sydney → Melbourne ✈️Flight 1.5h Flinders Street Station → St Paul’s Cathedral → Hosier Lane graffiti → Federation Square 🌟Vintage station and street graffiti create a strong contrast . D5 Melbourne 📍State Library of Victoria → Queen Victoria Market → NGV Art Gallery → Eureka Skydeck 🌟Melbourne is perfect for slow exploring, covering bookstores, markets, and art galleries . D6 Penguin watching 📍ROCHFORD winery lunch – Tarrawarra Museum and Art TARRAWARRA MUSEUM – Phillip Island penguin parade 🌟Australian wineries are beautiful, with museums featuring works by Yayoi Kusama and others. The penguin parade at night is a must-see. A big group of penguins waddling over is so cute (no photos allowed) . D7 Leisure 📍Puffing Billy steam train → Royal Arcade for souvenir shopping 🌟The vintage steam train is a must-try! You can put your feet outside, which is fun! 🥬 From Farm to Table: A Hidden Food Experience in the Yarra Valley 🌿🇦🇺 — traveler post in Coldstream

🥬 From Farm to Table: A Hidden Food Experience in the Yarra Valley 🌿🇦🇺

#must-tryfood Sometimes, the simplest ingredients create the most unforgettable meals. During my visit to Gateway Market in Coldstream, just outside Melbourne, I discovered a true farm-to-table dining experience. This isn't just a café or restaurant—it's a place where fresh produce is grown nearby, harvested at its peak, and transformed into dishes that celebrate natural flavours. What impressed me most was the Roasted Cauliflower Salad. It may sound like a simple vegetable dish, but every bite was packed with flavour. The cauliflower was perfectly roasted, bringing out its natural sweetness, while fresh herbs, juicy tomatoes, crunchy lentils, and a creamy dressing created a delicious balance of textures. It completely changed the way I think about vegetables. We also shared crispy croquettes, creamy hummus topped with spiced mushrooms, and crispy fried chicken with a tangy sauce. Every dish was beautifully presented, fresh, and full of seasonal ingredients. What makes Gateway Market special is their philosophy of letting fresh produce shine. Many of the vegetables and herbs are grown on-site or sourced directly from their own farm, making every meal feel incredibly fresh and connected to the land. If you're exploring the Yarra Valley, this is the perfect place to slow down, enjoy wholesome food, and appreciate the beauty of simple ingredients prepared with care. 📍 Gateway Market Coldstream, Victoria, Australia Why it's worth visiting ❤️ 🌱 Fresh farm-to-table dining experience 🥗 Seasonal vegetables harvested close to the kitchen 🥬 Surprisingly delicious roasted cauliflower salad 🍽️ Beautifully presented dishes with fresh local produce 🚗 A perfect stop before or after visiting the Yarra Valley wineries ⭐ Rating: 5/5 Good food doesn't always need expensive ingredients—sometimes, the freshest vegetables, picked at the right moment and cooked with care, are all it takes to create something truly memorable. #TripMoments #Melbourne #Victoria #YarraValley #Coldstream #GatewayMarket #FarmToTable #Foodie #MelbourneEats #HealthyFood #WeekendGetaway #Australia #LocalProduce #TravelAustralia

However, if you're looking for a relaxing vineyard view combined with authentic Australian-Italian fusion cuisine and a stunning art gallery, Quarters at Hubert Estate in Coldstream is the place to be. It's a gorgeous, multi-functional winery where you can indulge in a leisurely wine tasting session and capture some amazing photos! The space is large and great for families or group gatherings. For the best photos, visit during the late afternoon when the golden hour light hits the vineyard—plenty of Instagrammable spots. We came to Domaine Chandon for a relaxed afternoon during Christmas season. We ordered the singature tasting set and snack, then sat on the lawn, facing the winery. Just wine, open space, and time slowing down a little. You can walk around freely, sit wherever feels comfortable, and enjoy the view at your own pace. Such a relaxed and easy atmosphere. Such a gem in the Yarra Valley, highly recommended🥰 Perfect for a slow day in the Yarra Valley. #hellochristmas #travel #wineryescape

A romantic encounter between lavender and wine — traveler post in Coldstream

A romantic encounter between lavender and wine

Among Melbourne's wineries, Tokar Estate is undoubtedly a hidden gem that will utterly captivate your senses. Even before stepping into the winery buildings, the vast lavender fields are a breathtaking sight. The velvety purple blossoms sway gently in the sunlight, weaving a vibrant tapestry with the adjacent rose garden. In the distance, the vineyards blend seamlessly with the mountains, making time seem to slow down. The winery architecture has a distinctly Italian flair, with two towering cypress trees standing at the entrance, and the open-air area under red parasols exuding a relaxed atmosphere. Entering the tasting area, the cheese platter is the perfect complement to the fine wines—a rich blend of various cheeses, crunchy biscuits, nuts, and jams, each bite offering a delightful surprise with the wine. The wine tasting itself is even more impressive. Whether it's a crisp white wine, a delicate rosé, or a full-bodied red, each wine displays excellent balance and terroir. The Prosecco, in particular, with its fine, delicate bubbles and refreshing fruity aromas, instantly awakens the taste buds. The winery's wine display area is also quite stylish, with various wines neatly arranged, exuding sophistication from packaging to labels, making them suitable for personal enjoyment or as gifts. At Tokar Estate, you can not only appreciate excellent wines but also enjoy a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle amidst the fragrance of lavender and roses, making it an unmissable gem on any Melbourne winery tour.

A Magical Day in Yarra Valley – Wine, Cheese & Gorgeous Views! 🍷🐄

If you’re visiting Melbourne, don’t miss a day trip to Yarra Valley — it’s only about an hour’s drive from the city, but it feels like a whole different world! We did this as part of our Melbourne trip in March 2025, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our journey. Here’s a glimpse into our Yarra Valley day itinerary: 📍1. Domaine Chandon · First stop and WOW 😍 · The sparkling wine tasting with a vineyard view was simply unforgettable · The garden and architecture are so elegant — even if you don’t drink, it’s worth visiting for the scenery 📍2. Yarra Valley Dairy 🧀 · Cute little shop with the best goat cheese we’ve ever tried · We bought a tasting box and had a mini picnic outside · You can see cows grazing nearby too – kids loved it! 📍3. Yering Station Winery · One of the oldest wineries in the valley · Friendly staff and lots of wines to try · The cellar door experience was really welcoming 📍4. Four Pillars Gin Distillery · If you prefer gin over wine, this place is a MUST! · Their tasting paddle and cocktails are so smooth · Great souvenir shop too – we brought back a bottle of Bloody Shiraz Gin 😍 📍5. Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery 🍫🍦 · Perfect last stop, especially if you’re with kids · Free chocolate tastings, gorgeous garden, and creamy gelato · Warning: you’ll want to buy everything! 🌤️ Weather in March: Cool and sunny – perfect for walking around vineyards and taking photos! Around 18–22°C, so just a light sweater was enough. 🚗 Getting There: We joined a small group tour for the day (booked via Trip.com). Comfortable ride, super friendly guide, and no worries about drinking & driving! ⸻ ✅ My Tips: · Book tastings ahead, especially for popular wineries · Wear comfy shoes — lots of walking around gardens & cellars · Bring a cooler bag if you’re buying cheese or chocolate to take back! · Even if you’re not a wine drinker, the views and food make it so worth it Yarra Valley is so much more than wine — it’s about the experience. Peaceful, beautiful, and delicious. Highly recommend if you love nature, food, and relaxing vibes 💕 #TripMoments #YarraValley #MelbourneDayTrip #WineTasting #CheeseLovers #AustraliaTrip #TripcomTips #TravelWithStyle

Dandenong Ranges National Park

I heard that the Chinese employees of Wilson factory said that Dandenong is good. In June 2012, a friend drove a group of three people to Dandenong. There were few cars and people, and the road was unimpeded. As soon as we entered the forest area, our breathing felt much deeper, and we felt energetic and refreshed. There were many people consuming at the mountaintop cafe, but there were still empty seats. We brought barbecue ingredients and barbecued on the lawn slightly lower than the cafe. From memory, this lawn is 6 to 8 meters wide and about 10 meters long. There are 6 barbecue tables, which are divided into two rows, with three in each row. Our barbecue actually attracted several laughing kookaburras, which are a bird unique to Australia and New Guinea. There were also several local Australians who came to taste our barbecue. After the barbecue, we cleaned up thoroughly. The environment here makes people feel very enjoyable and natural.

Carlton Gardens

Lovely place to walk past on the way to the Melbourne museum. This time of the year, there’s autumn leaves covering the walkways. There is even a small pond with some ducks in the corner. And right in front of the royal exhibition hall, there is a fountain where sometimes you will catch couples taking their wedding photos here.

The view from the winery is great, which is not bad compared to other restaurants. The beautiful view and delicious food can be ignored.
