based on 173 reviewsLovely place to walk past on the way to the Melbourne museum. This time of the year, there’s autumn leaves covering the walkways. There is even a small pond with some ducks in the corner. And right in front of the royal exhibition hall, there is a fountain where sometimes you will catch couples taking their wedding photos here.
Carlton Gardens is located on the north side of Melbourne's city center and is one of the few United Nations World Cultural Heritage sites in Australia. The core building of the garden, the Royal Exhibition Building, was built in the late 19th century, combining Byzantine, Renaissance and Gothic styles. It has hosted the World Expo and is still used for large-scale exhibitions and celebrations. Its dome structure and cast iron decorations show the architectural features of the Victorian era, and the light yellow tones of the exterior walls form a harmonious contrast with the surrounding green plants. The layout of the garden is mainly geometrically symmetrical, with a central fountain surrounded by an open lawn and neatly trimmed shrubs and seasonal flower beds on both sides. The garden is shaded by ancient trees, and many trails connect historical buildings and leisure areas. Citizens often jog or have picnics here. The glass curtain wall of the Melbourne Museum on the south side adds modern elements to the classical landscape, creating a unique atmosphere of interweaving time and space. As a cultural and educational venue, the garden regularly hosts open-air movies, art fairs and other activities, and its winter light show attracts many families. When visiting, pay attention to the reliefs of mythological figures on the facade of the building and the original wooden stage structure preserved inside the exhibition hall.

The gardens are huge (26 hectares) and I wandered through them before a theatre performance so only saw a few. Located in the CBD, the gardens are very nice with lots of greenery. There are ducks in the pond. I have to mention the facilities in the park - it includes the Melbourne Museum, the Royal Exhibition Building (closed when I visited) and the IMAX Theatre.
Carlton Garden is also a famous attraction in Melbourne. The garden occupies a large area and is lined with old trees. All the leaves have turned yellow, and the mood of autumn is strong. There is a fountain at the end of the tree path, where a couple of Hong Kong people are taking wedding photos. The fountain is exquisitely carved and has a strong classical flavor. The thick-browed boy felt as if he had gone to a garden in Europe. There are many people taking a nap on the grass in the garden. The thick-browed boy really envies Australia for having such a beautiful public space, unlike the so-called parks in Hong Kong where there is almost nothing to do except dance the auntie dance.
Melbourne's Carlton Gardens is an urban garden in the city center. It has rich vegetation, large tracts of forests and lawns, as well as lakes in the garden. Water birds live here all year round. The whole park gives people a sense of tranquility and elegance. It is a great place for tourists and citizens to exercise and take a walk.
The garden was specially designed for the grand international exhibition held in Melbourne from 1880 to 1888. The Royal Exhibition Building and the garden are made of wood, brick, steel and slate, and the overall style combines various elements of Byzantine and even Italian Renaissance. Its heyday was before 1915, when more than 50 large-scale international exhibitions from Paris, New York, Vienna, Jamaica, Chile and other places were held here.
Melbourne's Carlton Gardens is a European-style garden with classic fountains and neatly trimmed flowers. The air here is very good, and flowers bloom all year round, making it look very noble and elegant.
Melbourne's Carlton Gardens is a very famous city park. It is located in front of the Melbourne Royal Exhibition Building. It is shaded by green trees, has wide lawns, and is dotted with several artificial lakes. Wild ducks and other water birds swim leisurely on the lakes, and the breeze is really comfortable.
Carlton Gardens Carton Park, Melbourne... The Royal Exhibition Hall and Museum are here, and it's also a wedding dress resort.
