Many times I had the desire to check inside this iconic Fangta tower but never had the chance. Finally, I made it. visiting Fangta Tower and taking beautiful pictures there would be an incredible experience. From the tower's intricate designs to the lush landscapes surrounding it, there are endless opportunities for stunning photography. The tower's rich history and cultural significance only add to the beauty of the experience, making it a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates ancient architecture and natural beauty. It is big inside so, don't be fool by its outside look. By the way, there is a noodle shop outside the main entrance (right side). See the last picture. If you would like to try local noodles, this is the best in the city so far I found. There are many choices. Try `Dry Fish Noodles` (Baoyu Mian) which is served with handmade noodles with soup and dry fish. Yushan park is undoubtedly one of the most attractive places in Changshu. You can visit there with family and spend a good time. This park is very big. I have covered very little of its attarctions. The reflection of the bridge on the lake is so beautiful. You can enjoy the surrounding beautiful scenario while walking on the wooden walking path by the lake. There is a zoo within walking distance. The park is well maintained. You can also take the park bus service to have a glimpse of the main sites of entire park. If you come with enough time then you can go to the Yushan mountain and Shanghu Lake which is nearby and the other tourist attraction sites in Changshu. #yushan #nationalforestpark #changshu #urbanexplorer#lakes

OK, when you first arrive , this places really feels like a touristy spot, and if thats not your vibe it may be off puttibg. BUT please carry on walking and you will find a lot of tea houses with no one arround, peaceful canals and little walk ways with bot a soul in sight. There are also many activities for kids and families as well as numerous resturants. This place is both ideal for a short trip or for a full day out with family or friends. Shangjiabang is located in the southeast of the city of Changshu in Jiangsu province and about an hour drive from Suzhou city. A new elevated highway from Suzhou to Changsu is under construction and expected to be opened in October that will reduce time to 30 minutes. I did some research online about this place and found an interesting anecdote. Shajiabang was part of the guerrilla base, where the local resistance force Jiangkang (Jiangnan Anti-Japanese Volunteer Army), subsequently incorporated into the New Fourth Army, fought against the Japanese Invaders in the intricate waterways of the area. In 1939 more than thirty wounded and sick Jiangkang soldiers led by Commissar Guo Jianguang could not move on with their troops. They stayed in the area of Shajiabang and were hiding from the Japanese and Nationalist troops near Shajiabang. Sister A Qing was an underground agent of the CCP who used to run a local tea shop as cover. With the help of local residents and her own intelligence, she managed to protect the wounded soldiers from the Japanese invaders and Commander Hu and Advisor Diao of the Nationalist forces. Commissar Guo and his soldiers survived all adversities and returned to Shajiabang to wipe out the enemy.  Apart from the historical aspect, you can also enjoy this place for it's wide range of natural elegance including forest, lake, bridges and canals. You will also find local village and street, locally made rice wine and many recreational activities.
