Sendai air strike と post-renaissance revival
Original Text
About 5 minutes walk from Omachi Nishikoen Station. Opened in 1981. It has a hall and conference room on the 1st basement floor and 5th floor above ground. In the material exhibition room (admission fee 120 yen) on the first floor, there are materials about the life during the war, the Sendai air raid, and the panel commentary on the postwar reconstruction.
In the middle of my errand, I went to the Sendai City War Disaster Reconstruction Memorial Hall near Hirose-dori. You can study the history of war disaster recovery. I recommend it.
You can see it at a cheap price of 120 yen for adults. Especially before and after the war, I was able to learn about the transformation from Sendai City to the present. It was quite spectacular.
It is now possible to understand the history of Sendai City from the Meiji period to the present age. In particular, the damage caused by the air raid caused by the war damage is transmitted through photographs and other images. As we proceeded with the postwar reconstruction plan, it was impressive to see us regenerate into a green city suitable for the city of Forest. It was also seen that junior and senior high school students came to visit as part of fieldwork.
There are several museums of this kind in Sendai City, but here, with the air raid damage as the biggest turning point, you can see the transition of the city of Sendai after the Meiji era. The exhibition space is on the first basement floor. Other than that, there seems to be a hall. At the reception at the end of the building, buy an admission ticket for the exhibition space (120 yen per adult) and then go down to the exhibition space on the first basement floor.
