Ski Cloudcroft is at an elevation of nearly 2,700 m and is a rare year-round ski destination in the southern part of the state. The ski area is compact, focusing on family-friendly and beginner-friendly experiences, featuring beginner and intermediate runs. With gentle terrain and moderate traffic, it is suitable for children's ski lessons and beginner practice. The ski rental shop provides basic equipment at affordable prices.
In summer, the ski area transforms into a mountain biking and hiking base, with multiple forest trails to explore spruce forests and alpine meadows. The summit observation deck offers expansive views, and on clear days, you can see the white gypsum dunes of White Sands National Park in the distance. The ski lodge features a casual dining spot, Cloudcroft Cafe, serving American-style hot drinks and burgers, where the outdoor seating is often "visited" by squirrels.
Note: When snowfall is unpredictable, you can call to confirm the opening status. If driving, please prepare snow chains, as some mountain roads are prone to icing in winter.
