Yuyuantan Park
Yuyuantan Park (South Gate)
Yuyuantan, the romance of sunset and cherry blossoms
Visiting Yuyuantan Park to enjoy the cherry blossoms has become a tradition for Beijingers every spring, especially around the Qingming Festival. Choosing a clear day to go out and appreciate the flowers is a wonderful feeling.
Choosing the time:
I like to take photos, and the light is a bit better at dusk. Yuyuantan under the sunset is more beautiful and more artistic. I choose to enter the park at four o'clock in the afternoon, and by six o'clock the sun will have set. The lake surface is remembered as being orange, which should be a good time for photography. Where to enter from:
Yuyuantan Park is large, with 6 gates for entry and exit. Usually, people enter from the East Gate and exit from the West Gate, walking along the lakeshore and enjoying the scenery, which takes half a day. If you play and shoot along the way, stopping now and then, it takes longer. I choose to enter from the South Gate and exit from the West Gate, mainly because the scenery on the north shore of the West Lake is good. I think the north shore is an excellent place to shoot the sunset and also to catch the sunset time.
Main attractions:
1. As soon as you enter the South Gate and cross the bridge, you can see the cherry blossoms, mainly pink and white, with green willows accompanying them, very beautiful. There are also many lilacs, with a fragrant aroma, making the cherry blossom viewing quite pleasant. Couples linger under the flowers, creating a very romantic atmosphere.
Walking to the west side of the Yuanyang Garden Pier, this is a good position. Looking west, you can see the Five-hole Stone Bridge, the Central Embankment Bridge, and the reflection of the lake and bridges. Looking east, there is a row of red antique buildings, which are also very beautiful.
Then to Yuyuanting Pavilion, this is a higher place in the park, where you can view the cherry blossom forest from a distance. Below the pavilion, there is a patch of red cherry blossoms, dense and layered, with vibrant colors. Girls in various ancient costumes take photos here, creating a nice atmosphere.
4. At the north shore of the West Lake, the sunset is just right, with red light and shadows on one side and the TV tower on the other, reflecting a long shadow on the water, which feels pretty good. Unfortunately, I didn't capture the frame with the cherry blossoms. Later, I found a spot next to the Cherry Blossom Valley, but the sun had already set.

Walking towards the West Gate, passing by the Nanshan Cherry Blossom Viewing Pier, this area is the cherry blossom zone, but it was already very dim, the TV tower was lit up, emitting a red glow, which looked quite good against the cherry blossom forest below.
Suggested visiting time: I entered the park from the South Gate at 4 pm and exited from the West Gate at almost 7 pm, about 3 hours in total, for your reference.
