Things to do in Hangzhou

My second visit to West Lake was great; the boat tour was excellent. The dock was easy to find, the staff were very friendly, provided clear explanations, and helped with any issues. There were also sightseeing buses, which were nice but a bit pricey. Taking the boat tour and then walking around was both perfectly fine.

At the summit, there's just a rock and a flat area, nothing special. On the other side, there's a temple to the God of Wealth with 1399 steps. You need to be very sincere to reach the top. Below are various Buddhist halls and temples, as well as some stone carvings of Buddha statues. The scenery is pleasant, with mountains, water, and forests.

This was during lunar 1st. Which attraction tons of crowds. Overall great place with museum relics shown apart from just the temple. Also the outer stone Buddha images was unique!

An interesting place to visit! :) We rented traditional cheese costumes, which was super fun, and took some great pictures around the park. The show was good, too, but unfortunately, some people seemed more interested in chatting than watching, which made it a bit noisy and distracting. :(( Still, it was a fun experience and definitely worth a visit!

Compared to the lake cruise where you have to wait for passengers to disembark before you can get a seat, the island tour is much more convenient and avoids backtracking. The scenery of West Lake is indeed beautiful! I bought a lake cruise ticket, but after waiting for ages without finding a seat, I decided to get a refund and go to the island. I was able to board the boat very quickly then!

Taking the A-line public ferry in the central lake area involves visiting four islands, but you can only actually explore two of them, unless you're traveling with children. We took the first ferry, departing at 8:30 AM, which gives you about 1.5 hours to explore each island. The ferry is waiting for you at the dock at that time. However, most of the time is spent waiting for the ferry. Since each island visit only takes a maximum of one hour, and there's no other way out of Qiandao Lake except waiting for the ferry, a lot of time is wasted. We planned to finish the trip in 5 hours, but due to the ferry schedule, it took us a whole day, leaving us physically and mentally exhausted. The scenery, however, is beautiful.

The park is best enjoyed by boat tour; walking is not recommended. The boat stops at three stations along the way, allowing you to disembark and explore. The attractions are average, but the boat experience is decent. A 60 yuan ticket allows you to ride for an hour, which is quite a good deal.

We went to Tonglu's Heartbeat Park during the National Day holiday, but unfortunately it rained. However, the kids still had a great time. There were rides and a few NPCs playing games, making it quite fun. The price was a bit high, and you couldn't replay the rides repeatedly, which reduced the overall value. The roast chicken was delicious and flavorful, and the price wasn't too expensive; I'd recommend it.

This is a worthwhile place to visit, to experience the culture of the ancient canal, and it's especially suitable for history and geography students. At Gongchen Bridge, you can feel the blend of ancient and modern times, and at the museum, you can learn about the canal's evolution and its impact on the country's economy, politics, military, and culture.

On my first visit to West Lake, I immediately opted for the sightseeing bus. West Lake is vast, and walking the entire way would be extremely tiring; the bus saved me a lot of energy. The bus route passes many famous scenic spots along the lake, with picturesque views all around – it felt like walking through a painting. You can stop and take photos whenever you see a beautiful view. Overall, it was a great experience and saved me a lot of energy. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting West Lake.
