Upon arrival in Salzburg, we will take you on a stroll through the historic old town to admire the city's famous landmarks. Mirabell Gardens, a renowned filming location for *The Sound of Music*, is just one of the many attractions you'll discover along the way. It was here that Maria and the children filmed the iconic "Do-Re-Mi" scene, singing and dancing by the fountains and on the steps. You'll also visit Horse Pond Square and the Rock Riding School, where Baron von Trapp sang his farewell song, "Edelweiss."
Another highlight of this journey is visiting Mozart's Birthplace located in the historic Getreidegasse. This winding, narrow street still retains its 18th-century charm, leading you to the birthplace of this renowned composer. Strolling through this historic neighborhood offers a unique perspective into the life of this musical genius. In the Old Town, you can also explore other landmarks such as the impressive University Church, St. Peter's Abbey, Salzburg Cathedral, and the world-famous Festival Hall.
After the guided tour, you'll have plenty of time to explore the city at your own pace. Stroll through charming streets, enjoy a delicious lunch, or browse the diverse shops. Salzburg perfectly blends history, culture, and modern amenities, offering something for everyone to enjoy.
Before returning to Vienna, you'll have ample free time to explore Salzburg. The group will meet at Paris Lodron Street at 4:00 PM to depart from Salzburg - please arrive on time for boarding. Estimated arrival time in Vienna is around 8:30 PM.
