Overview

This unique full-day program offers an unforgettable opportunity to visit two separate “Hands Off” elephant rescue projects: the serene SkyWalk sanctuary and the world-renowned Elephant Nature Park (ENP). Both projects were founded by Saengduean “Lek” Chailert, an internationally recognized advocate for elephant welfare.

Guests will witness elephants rescued from riding camps, circuses, and other exploitative conditions as they live peacefully, free to roam in natural surroundings with no chains, no hooks, and absolutely no riding. This immersive experience is both educational and emotional — and by joining, you directly contribute to the continued rescue and care of elephants in Thailand

Daily Itinerary (Subject to flexibility depending on elephant needs)

7:30 – 8:00 AM

Pick-up from your Chiang Mai hotel or meet at ENP office. Drive through picturesque countryside, with a guided introduction to our projects, philosophies, and rescued elephant stories.

Morning Visit SkyWalk Project

  • Arrival at our SkyWalk sanctuary a peaceful environment where elephants live as a family herd.
  • Elevated boardwalk lets you observe elephants freely without disturbing them.
  • Learn about elephant behaviors, social structures, and backgrounds from our expert guides.
  • Prepare food (vegetables, fruits) for the elephants, which our mahouts later deliver.

Lunch

Enjoy a varied vegan buffet — a highlight for many guests — with both Thai and Western options.

Afternoon Visit Elephant Nature Park

  • Observe more elephants in a larger sanctuary setting.
  • Watch as elephants interact naturally in herds playing in the mud pit, dusting with sand, or swimming in the river.
  • Witness the transformation of elephants healing from trauma — both physical and emotional.
  • Relax on viewing platforms while enjoying panoramic views of the herd.

3:00 PM

Farewell to the elephants and prepare for your return to Chiang Mai.

5:00 - 6:00 PM

Drop-off at your hotel or ENP office.

Important Notes

  • This is a "Hands Off" program. For the well-being of the elephants, we do not allow bathing, riding, hugging, or forced interactions. Guests are encouraged to observe and learn — the most respectful form of connection.
  • Program runs year-round in all seasons. Please bring appropriate clothing (sunhat, rain jacket during rainy season, walking shoes).
  • Suitable for all ages — from children to retirees. A moderate fitness level is recommended for walking activities.
