Its shape resembles a bridge extending diagonally towards the sky, hence the name "Amanohashidate" (meaning "bridge reaching towards the sky"). The boat houses, numbering approximately 230, stretch for about 5 kilometers along the southern coast of Ine Bay, making it one of the towns with the largest number of traditional boat houses in Japan. The residents still live in harmony with the sea. The clear, beautiful sea, the deep green mountains, the rapidly changing colors of the sky, and the colors of the boat houses—all characteristic of Japanese style—are pure, natural colors that can only be experienced in Ine Town. The fishing villages nestled along the coast offer a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle, exuding a rustic charm.
