I pickup Jinshanling Great Wall side because I read tons of review and it's definetly amazing. The views are spectacular, and there are a way less people going here. You can go up with a cable car or walking and it takes you around 2.5 hours to do the suggested trail. It's definetly fisically challenging as it's a constant up and down and some of the steps are huge to the point some of us were crawling like dogs hahah. There are bathrooms up there in some of the towers :) Our guide was super responsive and had a good level of English :) I then changed my tour to include Sinatai at night and I travelled in a car from one place to the other. Just take into consideration that is not included in this specific package, but it can be done with the same agency.

This tour was an amazing experience! 😍 Jinshanling is the perfect choice for hiking and nature lovers, since it’s peaceful and not crowded. Our guide Lucy was super friendly and had a great vibe. Thanks to her, we also got to see Simatai part of the Great Wall at night and enjoy a boat ride in Gubei Water Town. For my first trip to Beijing, visiting two different parts of the Wall in one day was really special. Highly recommend!

The bus service from various subway stations in Beijing was excellent. A driver took the small group of people on the bus, who wanted to visit this section of the Great Wall, to within a half-hour walk of the wall. We paid extra on the spot to have the same driver take us up to the cable car. We didn't take the cable car ourselves, and it's not necessary. It only takes 15 minutes from the base of the cable car to the top of the Great Wall. After visiting the wall, the driver took you to West-town. You have a few hours there before the bus departs. I wouldn't recommend visiting West-town.

Went with my 16 year old son and had an absolutely fantastic trip. It all went according to schedule. Susie our tour leader was super efficient and effective (fluent English speaker) even though there were so many different groups going to water town and Simatei. Mr A who met us at the jin shan ling was also very helpful and friendly although he couldn’t speak English. Jin Shan Ling was the most amazing part of the Great Wall. I’ve been to Badaling which was very very busy, however Jinshanling was not crowded at all. Plenty of space and time. It was quite challenging at points but I saw some older folks and small kids scaling the steep parts as well. I would highly recommend this for those who like a challenge and can walk for a few hours with plenty of steep parts. The views are incredible and the original parts of the Great Wall was stunning.
