Reviews: Zhangye Colorful Danxia Scenic Spot & Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon Day Tour
Guest User2026-10-31
A truly wonderful visit. The canyon is stunning. Be aware that you need to be in good physical condition as there are steep descents and ascents with stairs everywhere. The colorful mountains are magnificent, and shuttles take you to all the viewpoints. Try to arrive a little early for sunset at the last stop on the trail at the end of the day, as it's spectacular.

Reviews: One-Day Tour of Zhangye Danxia Rainbow Mountains & Mati Temple (Explore Geological Wonders, Discover Millennia-Old Buddhist Grottoes)

To be honest… quite expensive just for hiring the transport and getting the tickets to Danxia and Mati Caves. However, both drivers were attentive. Both places are fantastic and beautiful!

Reviews: Hotel Pickup & Drop-off | Zhangye Two Scenic Spots Day Tour | Pingshanhu Grand Canyon + Zhangye Rainbow Danxia | Pure Sightseeing

First and foremost, I recommend that non-Chinese tourists install WeChat to facilitate communication with the organizers and the driver. My excursion went perfectly. I was the only foreigner in the car, but we managed using a translator. The tour included a visit to the canyon in the morning (3 hours), a lunch break in downtown Zhangye, and then Danxia National Park in the afternoon (4 hours). The tour duration was sufficient to fully enjoy the sites. My only slight complaint was that I didn't have an English-speaking guide, not even a virtual one, but this didn't bother me since I prefer to explore independently.

Reviews: Zhangye Danxia and Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon Chartered tour

Everything went smoothly, even though there was no service in English as was advertised. Driver did great job with translator tools and pointing me to right direction. If you are short on time I would recommend.

The tour is amazing. The company is very supportive with customed requests. The Pingshanhu Grand Canyon is breathtaking and the Zhangye Danxia Geopark is unique. I highly recommend this trip.
