About Host
Hi, I'm Ruixi, a resident food nerd at Lost Plate Food Tours! My friends and I run top-rated food experiences that take you off the beaten path to the best local eateries we've discovered in China. General Tso's Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork are popular myths of Chinese cuisine, so join us to experience what locals eat and discover truly authentic Chinese flavors. We're different from everyone else because we do this for fun and also as a profession. This means I take every aspect of our experience seriously to guarantee you have an incredible and authentic time. We tell the story behind each dish and visit genuine, family-run restaurants, all while sipping a cold beer and soaking in the vibrant local life. Welcome to China, and I hope to eat with you soon!

Experience Flow
Eat like a local in China's first UNESCO City of Gastronomy.
There are a million reasons Chengdu is an international food destination. It's a UNESCO city of gastronomy. It's the most popular Chinese cuisine in China. Not only is Chengdu the capital of Sichuan cuisine, but also the capital of eating out, with the highest per-capita ratio of restaurants, hot pot eateries, and teahouses in all of China. And at the same time, you could know all of this and yet know very little about food in Chengdu.
