The English-speaking guide and private car driver will pick you up at your Chengdu downtown hotel lobby at the scheduled time.
07:30-08:10 Take the bus to panda base
The ride takes about 30-40 minutes, and the guide will give a brief introduction in English about Chengdu and interesting facts about pandas.
08:10-11:00 Visit Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
Avoid the peak crowds and visit the panda villa, panda maternity ward, and red panda activity area during the morning when pandas are most active. Watch the adorable national treasures munch on bamboo, climb trees, and play. The guide will provide English explanations throughout the tour about pandas' living habits and conservation stories.
11:00-13:30 Take a ride to Leshan
The drive from Chengdu to Leshan takes approx. 2.5 hours. You can take a short nap or listen to the guide share more stories about Chengdu.
13:30–14:30 lunch time
Enjoy authentic Sichuan cuisine at a local Leshan restaurant, where dishes will be adjusted according to your dietary restrictions.
14:30-17:00 Visit the Leshan Giant Buddha (mountain tour)
After arrival, enter the Leshan Giant Buddha attraction with an English guide.
Walk along the trail via Lingyun Temple to the Nine-Turn Plank Path on the right side of the Giant Buddha. Descend from the Buddha's head all the way to its feet, and look up close at this 71 m tall Tang Dynasty Maitreya Buddha, experiencing the awe of "the mountain is a Buddha, and the Buddha is a mountain." Afterwards, you may visit Haishi Cave and the Forest of Steles. The guide will explain details about the Buddha's construction history. You will also have ample time to take photos.
17:00-19:30 Return to Chengdu and arrive at the hotel
Gather and return to Chengdu by vehicle. The journey takes approx. 2.5 hours, and you will be returned to your original departure hotel in Chengdu city at around 19:30, concluding the fulfilling one-day private tour.
