This itinerary is too long to explore on your own, so a day trip is a good option. One and a half hours each for Shikisai-no-oka and Furano is generally enough; half an hour for the Blue Pond and 20 minutes for Shirahige Falls felt rushed – basically just enough time to climb up, take a few photos, and the time was up.
We took a minibus with the driver, which had 10 seats. The bus was a bit old but quite clean. However, the legroom was limited, making it difficult to stretch out, and the two-and-a-half-hour journey was a bit tiring!
The driver was a steady driver and a nice guy; he was from Northeast China.★

Although the weather wasn't great, with rain all day, it was still pretty good overall.
Although there weren't any particularly stunning landscapes, the trip was quite relaxing and hassle-free.
Thanks to our tour guide Chen Ling and the driver; the tour guide provided explanations throughout the trip, thank you for your hard work.★

The tour was conducted in English by a Chinese guide based in Sapporo. We also mistakenly booked an English guide, and while communication wasn't difficult enough, the explanations of the tour locations seemed a bit lacking. However, the guide was cheerful, drove safely, and was kind.★

Beautiful scenery + delicious food! Hokkaido melons were at their sweetest, and the itinerary was perfectly planned. Morning was spent taking photos in the flower fields 📸. Lunch was an all-you-can-eat Hokkaido melon buffet 🍈 – I ate until I was stuffed! The tour guide was so cute, constantly helping me get more melons and urging me to eat more. Okay, I ate 20 pieces (づ′▽`)づ – it was so satisfying!
This is just my personal opinion, for reference only. Seeing flowers in the morning 🌸 and eating melons at noon 🍈 is definitely worth it 🉐. I stayed in Hokkaido for 15 days, and this itinerary was the most unique and I was extremely satisfied. I recommend it! Challenging my melon-eating limits, hahaha 😁★

Guide Liu was amazing! Today's day trip to Asahiyama Zoo, Forest Elf Terrace, and Shirahige Falls was exceptionally well-planned.
The timing was impeccable, allowing ample time for photos and exploration at each attraction, so there was no rush. Guide Liu not only provided detailed explanations but was also incredibly considerate, looking after the elderly and children in our group throughout the trip and resolving any issues immediately.
Although the weather was cold, her warmth made the entire trip feel cozy. The view from the Forest Elf Terrace was fantastic, and the snowscape at Shirahige Falls was breathtaking. Traveling with Guide Liu was both safe and enjoyable – a perfect score! 💯★

We had a wonderful day trip! We booked a day in advance through the Trip.com mobile app, and although we weren't departing from Sapporo, thanks to excellent communication and understanding, we were able to join the group at Asahiyama Zoo on time. Our guide, Sophia, was incredibly attentive, communicating in Japanese, English, and Mandarin to ensure everyone understood the itinerary.
We had ample time to explore and take photos at each attraction. One pleasant surprise was the unexpected opportunity to see the Biei Christmas tree up close, something we had originally planned to only view from the bus. Thanks to Sophia and the driver's on-site assessment, the entire group was able to get off the bus for photos!
Speaking of the driver, he could also communicate with us in Japanese and Mandarin. Since our hotel was located in Asahikawa and we weren't returning to Sapporo by tour bus, the guide and driver even checked the public bus schedules after New Year's Day to understand any special changes and arrangements. Their meticulous and patient service made our experience even more enriching.
At Blue Pond and Shirahige Falls, Sophia's explanations gave us a deeper understanding of these beautiful places. Heartfelt thanks to Trip.com for the arrangements, and to Gogoday for the day trip that added such unforgettable moments to our Hokkaido trip! 😄🙏
