After 1.5 hours from Perth, we stopped for a short break to experience the thrill of sandboarding at the Lancelin sand dunes. The pristine white sand and massive dunes as high as three stories will amaze you, and we provide homemade customized sandboards for your use.

Shake the sand out of your shoes as we continue to Nilgen Nature Reserve. In this biodiverse area, we'll stroll through kaleidoscopic wildflowers including banksias, bottlebrushes, heath, grass trees and kangaroo paws when in season. If flowers aren't blooming, we'll head to Hangover Bay instead, where you can wade in crystal-clear waters or spot bottlenose dolphins and sea lions. These two attractions will be selected by the guide on-site based on seasonal flowering conditions.

After breathing in the fresh ocean air, it's time to head to Nambung National Park to witness the extraordinary Pinnacles Desert at sunset. The pinnacles are formed from shells dating back millions of years when the land was underwater. At dusk when the crowds disperse, thousands of limestone pillars eerily rise from the desert, making it the perfect time to explore; watch the colors shift on the rocks, creating a lunar-like atmosphere.

Enjoy a picnic dinner and a glass of local product wine (all included) as we settle under the celestial canopy to witness a spectacular natural light show. As night falls, it's time to marvel at the ethereal beauty of the rotating stars and planets suspended above. Listen to ancient Dreamtime stories from the indigenous people and gaze at the starry sky light-years away (stargazing includes monocular and binocular telescopes).

Self-drive package: stargazing + dinner

The itinerary begins with a gathering at the pinnacles desert parking lot 75 minutes before sunset (specific time subject to the booking). Drive into the desert on your own.
