Itinerary
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and embark on a day-long adventure to Cajón del Maipo, exploring the breathtaking beauty of the Andes mountains. Travel in a comfortable air-conditioned van, immersing yourself in towering peaks, crystal-clear rivers, and charming mountain villages.
Depart from Santiago and head to San José de Maipo, where an experienced guide will share local folklore with you. Along the way, you'll pass through small towns like Las Vertientes, El Canelo, El Manzano, and El Melocotón. The journey begins at the majestic Maipo river in the Andean foothills, offering stunning mountain views. Later, we'll arrive at the spectacular El Yeso reservoir. Marvel at the emerald waters surrounded by towering mountains. We closely collaborate with Parque Cordillera at the El Yeso dam to provide clearly marked easy hiking routes, park ranger supervision, basic first aid equipment, a safe controlled environment, and the best panoramic viewpoints for capturing unforgettable photos.
Next, you'll experience an authentic rural journey in the Andes Mountains. You can photograph baby goats and wildlife, taste fresh goat cheese, artisanal honey, and traditional alfajor cookies, while browsing local handicrafts. You may also choose to enjoy lunch at a traditional mountain restaurant (at your own expense). Interact with locals dressed in traditional Chilean attire, take memorable photos, and enjoy vibrant folk dance performances. We'll prepare a carefully curated picnic for you, including cheese, ham, snacks, and wine.
We will also visit the chocolate house, a fairy-tale architectural gem nestled in the Andes mountains. Its unique appearance and cozy atmosphere make it a stunning landmark. At the end of the itinerary, we will host a Chilean cultural heritage celebration activity with opportunities to win prizes and receive unforgettable souvenirs.
After experiencing a day of natural scenery and cultural exploration, return to Santiago with an estimated arrival at your hotel or downtown area around 18:00.
